I’ve been working on improving how iiSU behaves on dual-screen devices, and this time it’s the Thor’s turn to get some love.
Unlike the Ayaneo Pocket DS (which can run both screens interactively), the Thor’s second screen is treated by Android as a presentation display, meaning it needs a few creative tricks to behave more like a “real” second screen.
So I’m adding a new option that lets you choose where the main home screen appears, either on the main display or the external display.
You’ll soon be able to swap them instantly right from the settings!
It’s all part of a bigger effort to make iiSU feel natural and customizable on every kind of handheld, whether it’s the Thor, the Pocket DS, or even a single-screen device.
For Thor users, this means the app will feel more alive on that secondary display; and for everyone else, the interface will soon be smoother and more adaptable than before.
🖥️ Settings UI
Added a new toggle in Settings → “Home screen location”.
You can now choose whether the main launcher UI (home screen) appears on the internal or external display.
We’re still fine-tuning how the display swap works, making sure focus, touch, and transitions behave the way they should.
But it’s already showing big improvements, and I can’t wait for you to try it once it hits the next early access build.
These changes are still being tested on the AYN Thor to refine how the external display behaves and improve responsiveness.
Even though the Thor’s secondary panel is technically a presentation display, the goal is to make iiSU behave as seamlessly as possible, giving users the same fluid dual-screen experience that Pocket DS users already enjoy.
We’re also polishing how iiSU behaves on single-screen devices, so everyone gets smoother transitions and consistent layouts regardless of their setup.
