Willam, I love you and we love you. You have literally saved my life so many fucking times and one of the main reasons you're able to do that is the fact that you're not an idiot. If you make a mistake you genuinely feel sorry about it and do everything in your power to rectify the situation, usually BEGINNING with educating yourself and if you don't believe me when I say that is what makes you an amazing person, then ask Courtney; I'm sure you trust their opinion.

A roast is meant to flirt right on the edge of what is acceptable. That's what makes them entertaining. It should have some shock, still be funny, and relevant to the person. I don't personally feel like you crossed the line, and unless Latrice feels slighted by it I don't think it's an issue. The whole community seems to be real dead set on pointing fingers and being offended FOR people. I wouldn't take anything some random person says seriously. If Nina or someone else you /know/ says something, keep an open mind and listen. That's the best you can do. Only admit wrong when you truly feel or have grown to understand that you have done wrong. Until then you good girl.

I think that it's fine for a roast to be offensive but I think that jokes about race and slavery are in the same camp as rape jokes-its always too soon. So they should be avoided unless they are amazingly funny and the joke isn't "this person is x" or "this person's ancestors were owned by my ancestors!" But something about the nature of how harmful/stupid that oppression is. The joke isn't funny if it's punching down.
