Our Racing Simulator
Morning all! Time to wrap up this baby and put a red bow on it. 😉
I had a bit too much fun last night, so I'm a bit worst for wear. 😁 I'll do my best to make this release post make sense.
I had to make a couple of fixes. No matter how obsessive I am about my QA and attention to detail I am only human and when there are so many objects, shaders, textures, data, sounds and CSP code, it happens. Whilst going over it, I made some more improvements to some of the shaders too. Thanks to those who approached me on Messenger with feedback.
I have managed to remove 4 large textures through some optimisations whilst improving the gauges. I also added a digital odometer instead of the old analogue one, and of course made KMH and MPH versions. Speaking of which, I have made a data.acd file for KMH and MPH. In the folder of both version of the mods, you can simply rename the one you prefer to data to your preference. Default is KMH. So you will have data.acd = default, and data_km.acd (KMH - backup), data_m.acd (MPH) and there is one more!
Very special to me is the work done by Jandrovi, data_historical.acd, also using CSP extended physics. He's made a historically accurate version based on the type of tyres available at the time and the supercar's performance as it was tested at the time. The amount of time and research he puts into his work on the physics is outstanding. Very smart fella, even knows how to get around limitations of the AC physics engine and how to use extended physics. This physics work is free, and he's a really nice guy too, even took the time to explain to me some of the parameters and to show me the dedication and passion he puts into his work. But even if this all goes above your head, as I will admit some does go above mine, it's all about the drive! It is sublime, I spent so many hours driving with his physics. Modern day rubber alone can make some really fast hatchbacks achieve similar times at Nürburgring to this nearly 2 decades-old supercar, but knowing the car is as close to how it was when it rolled off the assembly line in Maranello, is such a treat! Please check out all his other work on popular AC mods on his YouTube channel. 👍
Enjoy!
