October update

Towards the end of September I made a small trip to the CZ to pick up some of the stuff I left behind when I left to go to Uni.  With these things I plan to get out a fan review article up on the blog some time soon. The testing will be noise and cooling performance at 1000RPM and noise and cooling performance with maximum fan speed.  I have a decent selection of fans to work with right now and if the article is successful I hope to go out and get more fans to add to the comparison. Right now I just need to figure out the details around what to use as a load and how to measure all the temperatures. Once I figure that out it shouldn't take me very long to test all the fans I have.

I've also got 2 extra PSUs, 4 100W peltiers and my Fury Tri-X that is unlocked to 3840 cores.  So in the near future I might be able to do a 4 way Fiji 3Dmark stream. The peltiers I brought over are pretty weak and at most will work well up to 200W of heat load so while I do plan to experiment with them a little I really want to upgrade to some more expensive ones that are much more efficient to use in my chilled water loop. However since I now have usable TECs the chilled water loop is now a matter of just sourcing water cooling parts for the two loops. I'm thinking that I might be able to get EKWB, XSPC or some other waterblock maker to provide these for free so I'm in no rush to buy these things. On a side note the Seidon 120Vs I brought from the CZ do an excellent job of cooling Peltiers so I have another project idea for those. My end goal with all this TEC experimentation is to eventually cram a sub ambient water loop into an MATX or MITX build.

Now then things that are more "now" so to say.  I should be receiving a motherboard sample to review some time soon.  Hopefully that will expand into GPU samples too.  I'm also currently in the process of finally selling the Rampage V Extreme and buying a 5930K to replace the "dead" 5960X. Once that 5930K arrives I will figure out how to deal with the 5960X be that killing and RMAing or selling it. Other than that I now have enough budget to actually do my "work" system build. Which is basically me switching from using a testbench for my daily system to an actual proper case and the test bench will replace the motherboard box I always use when streaming. The goal of this is to streamline the live stream process as well as free up some storage space on one of my desks which should result in the live stream desk being less of a mess.

Well that's the plan for this month. If you have any ideas/suggestions/complaints you can drop a comment I will read them and maybe not ignore them.

:D

BTW you're awesome and thanks for making AHOC possible!

My stuff is like a gas. Given enough time It will spread to occupy all available desk/floor space. Which is why I said should be cleaner and not will be cleaner because I will probably just make a bigger mess.

Actually Hardcore Overclocking (Buildzoid)

Still missing the monthly hair update :P Also i kinda liked the messy desks, reminds me of mine and adds a little bit of sexyness to your streams, or authenticity but all of the other ghetto things kinda compensate for that(cardboard ram housing for dryice or was it ln2 ). Anyways GJ so far, keep it up and show us those peltier elements ;)
