RTX 4090 Strix PCB breakdown notes
Added 2022-10-12 23:00:23 +0000 UTCInput filtering bulk capacitance
12x 270uF 16V TH aluminum polymer
16x 56uF 16V SMD aluminum polymer
Vcore Controller: MP2891 12 phases
MOSFETs: 24x FDMF3170 70A SPS (2 per phase)
1.2V 500KHz 150nH (power stages only scaled down from 1.8Vout)
300A ~25W
400A ~34W
500A ~43W
600A ~54W
800A ~81W
Vcore VRM bulk capacitance
14x 820uF 2.5V TH aluminum polymer
35x 470uF 2V SMD aluminum polymer
Vcore core bulk capacitance
4x 470uF SMD aluminum polymer
2x 10x MLCC
Vmem Controller: MP2891 +4 phases
MOSFETs: 4x FDMF3170 70A SPS (1 per phase)
Vmem bulk capacitance:
18x 470uF SMD poly
Notes:
Possibly the best RTX 4090 PCB in terms of voltage regulation. The memory output filtering especially is absolutely insane at close to 4x the capacitance of the FE PCB. Not the strongest in terms of current handling capability but not by much.
Comments
ok, don't know if there's any other differences.. could you please do a TUF breakdown and se how much worse its is over the strix? if the strix is worth it over tuf

2022-10-16 21:23:46 +0000 UTCshouldn't affect daily at all.
Actually Hardcore Overclocking (Buildzoid)
2022-10-16 20:43:40 +0000 UTCthe Tuf has almost the same pcb as strix. TUF: 18x70A PS from Infinnon (TDA21570) for GPU + 4x50A PS from Vishay (SiC639), MP2888A controller from Monolith. So is the tuf a god one to get??? se founders have 20 power phase and tuf only 18... is it gonna make a difrense at all ?
