Stuff that I am doing - 20/04/19 + Macra Terror video

Hi everyone

Yeah text format seemed better suited this time.

So I've pretty much finished my 10k subs project - Popular content week's good to go as soon as we get there. I keep obsessively refreshing the page whenever I get stuck and can't write and just watch it slowly creeping along - it seems to have slowed down just to annoy me, probably not gonna happen till mid-may at this rate.

But that does give me a chance to A: get Class 9 further along in development and B: do other shit in the meantime. Such as review the animated Macra Terror for He Who Moans which I just finished (ooh seamless link) you can go watch it here:

Anyway that's the last video I plan on releasing in April. I'm still tempering my output as we wind our way towards 10k subs and the completion of Class 9.

On Class 9: I'm aiming to get all scenes bar the final long complicated one drawn by the end of April and I'm getting close to that. I've had a bit of a cold/sore throat thing lately so I haven't wanted to do any V/O for it yet, so I've ditched the doing it scene by scene approach like I did with Class 8 and am just gonna get all drawings done before I begin assembly. If I carry on at this rate while sticking a few videos in development in the background like I did with this Macra Terror video then it should be ready by the end of May - Class 9 takes precedence, but if I don't expect myself to churn out too many videos, it seems doable to have about 3 videos in May.

My current video schedule looks like this:

Last video for April
He Who Moans Macra Terror 2019

MAY

That video about Buffy Season 6 I mentioned ages ago - script finished

An editorial thing I'll talk about in a moment

Class 9

Hopefully this'll take me up to 10K subs so I can release popular content week following these vids. That's what the order of my next videos will look like unless it happens.

Anyway so the unnamed video I mentioned - I've been watching a lot of Nathaniel's general pop culture thinkpiece things on Council of Geeks recently where he talks about Youtube, criticism, fandoms, LGBTQ+ issues, and I'd quite like to do some videos that aren't specific to one franchise or a review of a particular thing.

I got a massive kick out of doing that Brexit TV dissection recently, I kinda wish I hadn't been afraid to show my political side for so long and I'd like to do some thinkpiece things about this whole "millenial backlash" thing that's happened online lately. I feel I probably could do some good in pushing back against it by being calm and measured and sarcastic like I usually am.

I've decided to do a video called "Is everyone ACTUALLY more offended nowadays or does it just seem like it?" Cause during my teens I went through this phase of watching big famous offensive media of yesteryear that pissed off Mary Whitehouse etc and then lately I've started seeing arguments that claim we're more easily offended nowadays which considering basically everything I spent my teens watching - video nasties etc - this assertion just doesn't hold up to scrutiny in my opinion, cause people have always been offended by shit, its just more obvious now that we've got the internet.

So yeah: that's what things will probably be looking like for the next few weeks so expect the next few updates to be rambly vlogs with cleo or something.

I might check in with J, B and R and see if they wanna do snuggly miracle day in the meantime. Thinking maybe do Children of Earth first cause I know that's good and if Miracle Day's anything like I've heard then the contrast might be interesting

Anyway, happy...whichever day it is-Saturday, that's it

BYEEEEE :)

Ooh, I'm interested to see what you thought of the animation for The Macra Terror. I thought that there were some parts that seemed a little lazy, but overall enjoyed getting to see it animated. As for some Snuggly Torchwood Time, I would definitely recommend watching COE before Miracle Day, and then again after Miracle Day (just to help feel a little less braindead). Before you go into it though, it may be worth remembering that COE was set and broadcast over 5 weekdays, and that Miracle Day was meant to be the same length as COE (although one episode per week), but STARZ wanted to extend it, so knowing that may make you feel it would have been better if it stuck to the same length as COE. Have a good Easter.
