Lots of Updates! - 6th November

 The Great 2018 Patron Consultation

Alright guys, time for an update on the channel and the Patreon page. 

So when I designed the current Patron tiers, I had a handful of patrons, and I think only a few thousand subscribers on YouTube. There’s now 82 of you and almost 49,000 on YouTube, so I think it might be time to re-visit things and most importantly add new tiers! 

Basically, I’d like your suggestions on what rewards you might like to see me offer that I don’t currently, be it physical items/merchandise, additional content, early sight of scripts, regular community gaming sessions, to list some examples. I have a couple of ideas, and I’m keen to get a sense of what you guys might be excited to see happen. 

Alongside this there’s the ‘style’ of the patron tiers, which at the moment is just Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers. An idea that I think might be quite cool is to instead assign ‘ranks’ to each tier, along the lines of those used at Sea (seeing as a focus of the channel is naval history).  

So for example, there would be tiers ranging from ‘Sub Lieutenant’ at the bottom, to ‘Admiral of the Fleet’ at the top, with various rewards at each level. I think it honestly sounds cooler to be a  Lieutenant aboard the HMS Historigraph than it does to be a Silver Patron (For example) – but let me know! I could be totally barking up the wrong tree. 

So seriously, please do get in touch whether on here or discord- I’d love to hear your thoughts on what rewards I could offer for Patreon, and what merchandise I might sell more generally. 

It’s weird being able to type that sentence- thank you all for making it possible for me to even consider it! 

Channel Videos Update

So as you might know from the announcement on the community tab, I’m taking part in a collaboration with other YouTubers on November 24th, all about naval history. Now as part of this the guys organising it have asked that we finish our videos for it a week early, on November 16th. This means that I have to expedite it a little and means that its going to be impossible for me to get the Operation Sealion video finished by November 10th as planned. 

I still intend to complete the Sealion video- I’ll probably be working on it during the week that I have finished the Operation Odysseus video and have to sit on it until Nov. 24th. A bit frustrating but we shouldn’t lose any content, its just in a different order. 

Other videos for the rest of the year remain the same- start of D-Day series.
