Way cool--and I thought I was definitely incorrect. Exciting. Thanks for the update and look forward to what you learn.

Connie L Merchant

Connie, we've done a bit of research at Op N and I think this might be a spur rowel from a vintage set of children's cowboy/play spurs. Will confirm when I know more.

David Ulke

Found it…good spot, amigo! I stand corrected.👍🕵️‍♂️

Eggs Ackley

At first I thought the star was a spur, but the round ends don't seem to fit a spur.

Why not show all of day8! If you’re hooked on T.T, as all your supporters are, don’t play silly games with it, just get on with it, please!

Leigh Francis

Just google 'sheriff's badge 8 point' and you will find an 8 pointdeputy sherrif's badge - example Grand Island Nebraska USA

Ian Smith

I did check a couple of websites for vintage toy law enforcement badges but saw nothing with eight point stars. Authentic vintage badges revealed nothing with more than seven points either.

Ah - signs of Sir Tony, and Tim Taylor, and teases of what's to come. This has been really interesting tidbits, but of course we need more on such an important historic group of warriors. :)

Janie Waters

Huzzah ! Tony is back !👍😊Would love to see Phil too 😊

Tom Gooden

The coin with the Queens head: I think she is wearing a crown, so not a farthing.

Chris Hutton

Cartridge cases: Upper Left: A .50 calibre American round. According to wiki it had a Rim diameter of .804 in (20.4 mm) the same as a 1p.

Chris Hutton

Cartridge cases: Upper Right: Presumably a .30 calibre American round. According to wiki it had a Rim diameter of .473 in (12.0 mm)

I don't see 12 flats. Are we talking about the group of 5 coins lower left?

Chris Hutton

I thought a tanner was 6d!

Chris Hutton

Could it be a kids toy?

Chris Hutton

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cheryl Kurucz

Sir Tony is back where he belongs...👍🇬🇧🇺🇸

Steve Mikre

I can only reliably identify Sir Tony! And generally shell casings, badges, and coins. Fortunately, I have the awesome Time Team to identify things for me!

choklityum

Tony❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ now we need our main trench digger back Phil we need Phil

Amy Snyder

I can say the star shaped emblem is not any U.S. style sheriff’s badge…eight points is too many.🤠

Eggs Ackley

Great to see Sir Tony on the screen, I've been catching up with the latest films and have to say the technology in use today is mind blowing, Surely the team must get their sonic screwdrivers soon, Trowels are so last century! :-)

Looking at the coins the one in the middle looks to have flats on the edges. which with the portcullis would make it a pre decimal three penny bit. The one with the young queens head on it is either a half penny or possibly a farthing ( quarter penny)

David Dearden

Great to see evidence of a Sir Tony sighting!

Stitch

In Feb 1971, we completely changed our coinage system from L.S.D. of 12 pennies (D) to a Shilling (S) and 20 Shillings to a Pound (L), so 240 pence to the pound, to the decimal system of 100 pence to the pound, the same as your cents/dollar. Just like your dimes and quarters, our pre-decimal multiple-amounts coins also had nicknames - tanner (1s), florin (2s), half-crown (2s6d) etc.

Nigel Sadler

Hello, Tony! 😀

Julianne Ture

This dog has been great. Being from the US, I don’t know your coins. Sometime you should send us an explanation of British Coinage so we can better understand some of you finds.

Warren Feldman MD

Badge: Top centre: Air Training Corps. Formed Feb 1941. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Training_Corps

Chris Hutton

Coins: the two at the lower left of the group: The first has The Queens head on it. The second has the Portcullis. \so I think they are modern 1p coins.
