2024-08-14 21:13:24 +0000 UTCThe point about people just reducing labor independence down to "who am I supposed to vote for" is a major point of frustration. Even in Canada, where we have more traditional European style parties, it often still just boils down to, "oh, so I should vote NDP or I should vote Green?" (both of these "progressive" parties sign off on endless weapons to Ukraine and Israel and neither of them are anti-capitalist). The idea of building theoretically sound socialist institutions outside of any connection to these parties is completely outside people's imaginations, even for a lot of the most popular online lefty Canucks.
