Daz Studio - The Upgrade Strikes Back
Added 2019-10-12 08:12:26 +0000 UTCIn v0.21.1 an interesting error popped up in some of the recently re-rendered faces. Some, but not all, of them were a much brighter skin tone than they should have been. Adding to the mystery, it wasn't a single pose or face type where the problem was popping up. After some detective work I traced the problem back to the rendering time gap caused by my recent upgrade from a gtx970 to a 2080ti. Renders before the upgrade were normal, while renders after it had the overly brightened skin tones.
A side effect of my graphics card upgrade was that I needed to upgrade to the latest version of Daz for it to recognize the new generation of cards. This, in turn, required a few minor updates to my rendering scripts to match some API changes they had made. In theory none of those changes should have resulted in a different final result, but either those changes or some deeper change in the new version was impacting the skin tone. In particular it seemed like the sub surface scattering (Which simulates light passing under the surface of something like skin then bouncing back out) was different and now much more prominently picking up the white geometry shell I have applied to the characters to allow me to render heads and bodies separately.
I couldn't replicate the old behaviour of Daz, but the fix was still a simple one. By dropping the brightness of the geometry shell I can replicate the same skin tones I was getting before. At this point I could have just re-rendered the faces that were wrong, but in addition to being faster my new card is also putting out much higher quality renders, so I decided to re-render it all to have a consistent level of quality. That will be done in two or three days, at which point I can triple check that everything is fixed. The fixed images will be included in v0.22, but I will also release them as a standalone pack for anyone who has downloaded v0.21 and just wants to fix their images.
Because this update post isn't long enough already, I've also been doing some writing while the rendering has been chugging. Starting in v0.22 you will be able to make romantic relationships with girls official, asking them to be your girlfriends once your Love with them is high enough. Girls who are already in a relationship may say no, but if you're able to seduce them (or just ask them, if they have a positive opinion of cheating) they will start having an "official" affaire with you. I'm still working out exactly what effects this will have on the rest of the game, so if you have any input or suggestions, leave a comment for me!

For instance, if you get disturbed during work, sometimes it is because of your emoployee's big tits bouncing, somettimes because of the perky tits.

If you could make it so that you meet their significant other in a special encounter, that would be just perfect. Imagine a company party where they all bring their mates and you boink around behind their backs!
