v0.4.0 Patron Release!

The final bit of rendering has finished, which means the patron release for Lab Rats 2 v0.4 is ready!

The major change for this update has been the complete re-render of all pieces of clothing in the game to make them compatible with the dynamic colouring system. The outfit creator screen has been given a major overhaul to go along with that, and a few default outfits have been created to show off the new clothing and system. Now that the backlog of images is rendered I will be adding new pieces of clothing, imaging positions, and accessories with every update.

A few other quality of life changes have been made to the game: Girls now have a default +10 job satisfaction added, which should limit them to quitting only when very unhappy. Actions that are usually shown but unavailable because of time, lack of people, ect. are greyed out instead of missing entirely. This will keep menus more consistently ordered.

Finally, there are some content additions to the game: Three new crisis events have been introduced into the game and a new sex pose has been rendered (missionary).

As always, here's the changelog (v0.3.3 to v0.4.0):

* Fixed crash caused in "against the wall" position.

* "Distilled Aprodisiac" now correctly increases research required when added to serum design.

* Fixed location background not returning to normal during a crisis event that brings you to a different location.

Might I suggest, for the newbies, that the sex position menus stay on screen even if they aren't active, and get a hover over hinting at how to get them active?

Hmm, I'll look into the bad render and the game lag. In theory there shouldn't be any increase in complexity as time goes on, so I think some stuff is getting stored and not getting cleared properly.

There's a weird render with one of the hair-dos, the frizzy pig-tail one... multiple colors. Also, I can confirm that later game lag. It's nearly geometric.

Don't know if it is a bug or something that was unavoidable, but I can't load any saved game from the previous version. When loading a saved game i get various errors.

Bug(But not really a bug), in the coffee event, you get prompt to add serum in to "player's name"'s coffee instead of whoever is giving you the coffee. No major complaints so far, other than balancing(Which probably isn't a priority right now) and performance(When I created a new game it's about as slow as 0.3 in late game, and gets a bit worse as time goes on). Minor complaints: In some body/shirt combinations there are little spots where the nipples are supposed to be, I'm guessing it's clipping through the shirts. Feature request: We know that outfits are now formed from a grey rendering and shifted into various colors, Can we expect a Hue&Saturation&Brightness slider/Input box in the future?

Ok so the development looks really great the game is fun in someways currently, but it feels a bit like work. I was wondering when we might get at least a partial story to play through in the background of holding up the business?

Coffee run event will allow for it, otherwise you need to buy the Daily serum regime package from the business options menu (main office).

Thoughts so far: -Really loving the variety in body types, for a while I thought fat girls were added but it turned out to just be a super baggy dress (?). -Hired a 50 year-old , great stats...doesn't look a day over 20. -Movement feels a bit odd right now. If some events are location specific it might be best to enforce movement restrictions. Perhaps make Your Home, The Mall, Your Company,Downtown hexagon clusters so movement within a cluster is without penalty (eg. Main office to Production or Gym to the Clothing store). Travel to different clusters however would have you first stop at the entrance hex (eg. Attempting to travel from R&D to Bedroom would put you at the House Entrance or Downtown to the Gym would put you at mall) Perhaps even a mini-map of your location's hex cluster, at the top right corner, for quick travel as opposed to jumping though menus. Travel to different Hex clusters (Home,Downtown,Mall,Work) would still use the "Go somewhere else" menu tab. -Even with a workforce of just you , it seems R&D should cost something per day (Basic utilities and supplies). Not a lot, but enough to make not hiring a workforce till the first serum is made feel less cheaty. -After nearly going bankrupt twice, I'm starting to feel serums should be auto-sell all by default, and the menu to adjust auto-sell used for if you want to keep some in spare. Just to help out dumbasses like me. -A time of day indicator in the map screen would be handy. -Are the girls drawing from a dialog pool during the bottled water incident? That’s really cool. -A net earnings feature on the end of day report would be handy. -When the AC breaks down do multiple girls ever strip? I Keep getting only 1. -Possibly limit 'Complement work' to a 1-day cooldown. -Day 27 My dilligent 2-girl R&D team researched and developed the most profitable in-game serum, codename: Paycheck. -Egads! 110 suggestibility potion is a little too good at it's job. Might not need to research other stuff now. Also, +145 Sluttiness from a fuck? My dick is magic I tells ya! -I'm really unsure why complementing a girl's work is the only thing that drops obedience when she is drugged. -Tried to find stat caps for Happiness and Sluttiness by chain-banging on of the girls. After getting bored the total was 254 Happiness and 2636.09 Sluttiness. Came inside (missionary and piledriver) each time, can confirm pregnancy not yet implemented. -Day 55 My 2 girls and I researched everything in the menu. Transferred them to the reproduction...er...Production department. End of test run. Possible bugs: -Noticed game started getting laggy after long 2.5hr playthough. Super laggy wile choosing "Spend time doing research in lab", and selecting bra menu in outfit creator. Bugs: -Some workers try to quit right after being hired, had both new hires quit back-to-back -Girl's Arousal counter does not reset after sex (multiple time stages later). -Girl with 142.2 Sluttiness lost happiness when you suggest she take off her wet shirt -After stripping fully nude for AC event Girl is back to fully clothed for dialog. Having the same issue with the wet shirt event. Seems to be the same girl in Production each time (uniform assigned) -Sex event from helping girl find her supplies does not show girl's stats on bottom left display. -Coffe run event MC's name is where girls name should be. -Crash on girl bending over for supplies event. Option chosen: "Let her know you're watching". -Girl not wearing assigned uniform during wet shirt event -Several days after denying a girl an orgasm (punishment option) MC's Arousal still did not reset. May have to contact doctor…. Really nitpicky BS (that you probably already fixed for 0.4.1): - Some menu options end in periods, others do not. - Text of some options and names are really crammed or spilling out of box. - Spelling errors: "hte" in 'Complement her work' dialog. "wer" in the 'Let her know you're watching' dialog. T-Shirt and Long T-Shirt misspelled" Long Tshirt"and"Tshirt". Coffee run event gives option to use serum even if there is none. - Bra nipple bumps poking colured holes in T-Shirt. - White T-shirt is medium grey - Mostly see-thru Lace sweater same Sluttiness (0) as baggy opaque Long sweater - -Volume sliders should probably be greyed out until sound is implemented.

In the new outfit manager, one needs to click/tap the actual words in order to change between the panties/bras/pants/etc categories, even though it looks like you should be able to click/tap anywhere inside the rectangles (this is particularly noticeable when playing with a touchscreen). Edit: after closer inspection, this issue seem to hold for all the buttons in the outfit manager.

Quick bug: the "give her a days wage" option (and most likely the week and month versions) still do not deduct money from either player or company.
