Expanding My Rendering Automation - Accessories
Added 2018-06-12 05:38:02 +0000 UTCFor people who are unfamiliar with my workflow, all of the rendering for Lab Rats 2 is done inside of a 3D posing/rendering program called DAZ Studio. The dynamic clothing system in LR2 requires a large number of renders done of the same piece of clothing while worn by different body types or in different poses. To make this possible I have spent a lot of time writing automation scripts that generate the appropriate image sets for new pieces of clothing, poses, body types, and so on.
For v0.6 I want to introduce a few accessories to the clothing system - things like glasses, piercings, collars, and jewelry. Some of these work perfectly with the current automation scripts I have set up, but facial accessories are going to require a minor rework to properly account for different facial shapes. This is what I am working on tonight.
There are three factors I need to account for. First, there are multiple facial shapes included in the game. Different renders will be needed for each of these to make sure they line up correctly, match the edges of the render, and so on. Second, each facial design has a set of expressions which change the position of the mouth, jaw, and cheeks of the model. If the accessory involves that part of the model it will need a separate render. Third, expressions might also have special modifiers. The current blowjob images use a special variant of each expression. Accessories might need a special set of images because of these as well.
This will take a night or two to get working and tested, but once it is done I will have everything in place to render out accessories all over the body, the face included. The most immediately important thing to come out of this will be visible cum shots over the body, as well as an expanded outfit creator selection. I'll be posting some screen shots of what that will look like once I have all of this work finished.
