"Would you know what joy is hid / In our green Musketaquid"

I believe it was Ralph Waldo Emerson who once said "Drone photography injects a stupid amount of production value into any documentary."

Sorry for the radio silence recently – been busy (but what else is new). I'm working on that piece about my hometown that I briefly mentioned in an earlier update, which has spiraled into a 90 minute megavideo called The Birth of an American Town

Usually when my fiancee asks me what I'm working on, she'll ask if it's "Sudbury," referring to the movie. Since this video is about the historical Sudbury plantation, now she asks me "What are you working on, Sudbury or Sudbury?" which has caused much confusion.

Today I was wading in the mercury-contaminated mud of the Sudbury River getting pricked by thorns so I could get a shot of an old overgrown bridge. Yesterday I was ACcosted by A police officer, But thankfully the encounter was brief (full story is up for $50 patrons). I was also so tired and delirious from the heat that I began talking to a woman who has been dead for 400 years while filming her gravestone. Occupational hazard.

This will be a very different, but very choice video. I won't even be in it (a positive), as it will be all voiceover, with a guest narrator reading my script. It will probably be a bitch and a half to edit, so if I'm totally realistic, we're probably looking at publication in early to mid August.

We will be living in the 17th century through September, to slather you all up with margarine ahead of the release of my film. Then, as always, Leif Erikson Day. Then, I'm getting married and will be taking a lengthy chunk of time off – not because I want to, because I have worked 6 or 7 days a week, nearly uninterrupted, since the autumn of 2021 and I am tired.

Then, early next year, we'll say goodbye to Johnny and Billy.
