Have you ever heard of the author John Scalzi? He writes a lot of darkly comic sci-fi with just a hint of insanity that seems like it would be your sort of thing. I'd recommend his novel "Redshirts," which is a bit like if you took original series Star Trek and put it into a rational universe where the characters dread going on away missions with the bridge crew because those always seem to have a higher mortality rate for junior officers.

This is a big one, so, sorry if the episode's already been going for a while. I was debating this with my friend group for a while, and I want to get your opinion on this. What can movies do that story-centric video games cannot? Personally, I've (mostly) settled on the idea that anything written in the 3rd-person omniscient POV works better under the medium of movies, but story-driven video games are a better medium for any other POV, as their naturally increased player connection is a major pro compared to the con of having more difficulty when it comes to pacing story beats (due to different players' speeds of playing the game). Of course, this is a hypothetical where, unrealistically, the player encounters ZERO immersion-breaking bugs during their experience. I'd love to hear the input of anyone in the comments as well; I want to gather as many takes as possible!

Personally I would go out hurtling towards into a black hole: perhaps I might end up in another universe or be contacted by humans from the 5th dimension that have created a 3 dimensional space within the black hole so that I can transmit quantum data back to earth in order to save humanity or I might just be crushed to death... Have you ever had a look at the 2002 superhero game Freedom Force, or it's 2005 sequel Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich? They're both fun little games with clever writing and a classic comicbook style.
