Hey Everyone!
Been spending some loooong hours in the music studio finishing up the final mixes on the Creatures of the Late Afternoon album. It's been fun but I'll admit the mix is a very time consuming process, chock full of microscopic equalization changes in order to get the balance right on all the various layers and instruments on each track. I'm testing the tracks on multiple speakers and 3 different set of headphones. It's great if the mix is coming together... And for the most part it is. Just a couple of tracks that are a bit of a wrestling match to get the balance in place. But I won't bore you with all that! Just rest assured that it's getting closer everyday and I'm taking my time to make sure it sounds the best I can make it!
Anyhow in order to give myself a break from the studio speakers, I started to do some dry brush painting. More specifically... pigeons! I see them out the window on the telephone line and sometimes on the window sill of my studio.
Some thoughts about pigeons:
I used to love chasing them when I was 2 years old. My mom has some some Super 8 film strip of me running around the park and watching them fly everywhere!
They're the only wildlife I can regularly see here in the city. Sometimes there are squirrels too. But that's about it.
Squirrels and Pigeons are among the citizens that inhabit the world of The Storyville Mosquito. They actually get some of the biggest laughs during the show. Go figure!
Anyhow... It's fun to paint again. And I'm kind of using it as a warm up and trying out different techniques and paints before I get deep into painting the playing cards in the board game which I plan to start this weekend!
Okay back to work!
Hope all's well you and have a great weekend and than's for your support!
