Buffalos, Bands, Animation!

JonJon Animation and I made a video for our friends Buffalo Daughter!
I met Buffalo Daughter in the 90s through Money Mark when we all did a world tour together. Buffalo Daughter had records out on the Beasties' Grand Royal label. Just a couple of indie bands on the road! We had a wonderful time on the road playing shows and sightseeing.
Their band consists of Sugar (guitar/vocals), Yumiko (bass/minimoog/vocals), DJ Moog (synths/turntables) and Atsushi (Drums). They're music was a captivating blend of songs, melodies, noise, beats and psychedelia. One of my favorite moments in their set was a tune called Jellyfish Blues which featured Sugar on guitar and vocoder and Yumiko on synthesizer. Whenever I hear that song, I remember how captivating their shows were and the dreamy spell they were able to cast on the audiences every night.
Anyhow, fast forward to now! Sugar approached me about helping create a new video for their new song. I drew some backdrops and cartoon versions of buffalos, the band members and a scorching hot sun with solar flare hair style! JonJon Animation made them all come alive in his unique jedi animation style! I mean, look at that buffalo walk!!!
We're all looking forward to hearing their new album which is out September 17. But in the meantime, enjoy the video!
