Quick update! It’s been busy in the recording studio these past few weeks.
I’ve got some wonderful vocal guests joining me on the soundtrack for Space Cadet Animated Feature! Very literally some of my favorite singers/vocalists in the world!
These include Karen O, Ladybug Mecca (of Digable Planets), Emilíana Torrini, Martha Wainwright, Meaghan Smith and Trixie Whitley! It’s sounding sublime and I’m working on adding some final instrument and turntable layers to some of the tracks before the final mix.
Meanwhile, over on the visual side of the studio, Corinne is creating some amazing space scapes and star field matte paintings which will be seen in the background of some shots in the film. We are trying different things with layers and digital painting to find a nice balance of something that looks like space but still has a bit of a graphic-novel, painterly feel to it.

Trixie is the raddest! Yes I saw she had just played some shows in Europe! The concert photos she posted looked epic! Wish I could have been there!
