[Archived] Deer Flexi and Sleigh

Hiii!!

These deer are sleighing 🛷🛷 Everything that is included in this release:

🦌 Deer Flexi (with horns and without)

🦌 2 unique 3MF

🦌 Keychain versions

🛷 Sleigh (3 parts)

I though it would be fun to include a boy and girl deer! The deer's head was designed to mostly stay upright, if put in the sitting position the head can be pushed down, you may need to use a bit of gentle force and it should click into a downward position. They were tested down to 50%, at 140% the head becomes a lot more wobbly and it is harder to keep upright when posed standing. No supports.

The sleigh is in 3 parts, the tracks and the seat can be glued into the sleigh to keep them in place. No supports.

The sleigh and deer are all 100% scale in the pictures.

⭐As with all of my designs, I strongly advise that the printed models are not to be handled by children under 3 without proper supervision⭐

Please make sure that when you are editing the 3MF that you are NOT painting the eyes with the paint tool. They are split to parts and painting them will create uneven paint lines. Instead please assign color to them from object list located in the left side panel. You can remove the eye shine or any other painted part in the 3MF by holding shift and clicking it using a fill paint tool.

Filaments used:

Dark brown Deer: Polyterra Army brown, Polyterra Army Beige, Ziro Starry Sky

Peachy Deer: Ziro Peachy sunrise matte gradient, Hatchbox stone brown, Ziro Twilight matte gradient

Pastel Deer:  Ziro Pastel Spectrum, Atomic Pearly Peach, Ziro Starry Sky

Sleigh: Polyterra Lava Red, Atomic Pearly Peach

Hii!! Gyroid should be good! I would make sure your bed is clean and you can use a brim to help with adhesion!

Christine

Whats everyone using for infill Iv had a few problems with bed adhesive not sure its due to the infill being wrong or just my bed, im using gyroid for infill

Carl Bate

Thank you!

Heather

I made it 150%. I don't have an elf on the shelf to put in it but it looks like it will fit them at that size

Shannon

My problem was my prime tower, bigger brim on the prime tower and just 60 for the bed, I’ve printed these multiple times now, no cooling for the first 2 layers 80 constant fan

jason slaney

Does anybody have any idea how big you would want to scale the sleigh up to fit an Elf on the Shelf?? I have a friend asking if I can print one for her Elf and I don't have an Elf myself to go by.

Heather

Did you finally get to print on the A1 or A1 Mini? What did you do to get it to stick to the plate?

Katelynn Gorsuch (kline)

Just send an e-mail with Some pics. Currently printeng attempt 3, but 3 heads went loose.. 5 hours to go but I’m scared haha 😭

Pinokkio

I successfully printed them yesterday it’s definitely worth messaging them, they’re a huge help!

jason slaney

Hii!! the previous comment we had troubleshooted that the prime tower was the cause to the adhesion issues. If you can send me pictures of your failures that would be great! You can send them to me on instagram, facebook, discord if you’ve joined it, or email them at thesprouted@gmail.com

Christine

Yup, same, even with brim.. Just started again for the 3rd time.. 😅

Pinokkio

Anyone else having trouble with these? Seems to come loose 75 percent through the print, tried on both an a1 and a1 mini with huge brims

jason slaney

Thank you!

Bumpa Built

That’s a cute idea! I would be okay if you wanted to try adding holes for this purpose!

Christine

Can holes be added to the sleigh so it can be used as an ornament? It would be so cute to have them arranged like they are flying around the tree!

Bumpa Built

Would still love a bow option for the deer. I seen many people looking to add a bow to this print. Holding out hope for the bow. 🥰

Manda Diehl

Hiii!! It was printed that way but painting it is a good option too

Christine

Did you paint the nose, or print it in a different color? Thank you.

SomethingKlever

Any chance of a Santa to go with it please.

JT Printing

aww yaay! I used a craft sponge and very lightly dry brushed the highlights on with white acrylic paint 🥰

Christine

For the 'snow dusting' on the sleigh, did you paint that, or is it a form of chalk or rub 'n buff? Trying to figure out how to get a similar effect on my sleigh. I'm setting up a snow scape for the dining table, and this is perfect for the centerpiece. <3

SomethingKlever

are you going to make a santa that goes with it?

Jeff

Hiii!! there won’t be a lot of surface area for the balls to be able to securely attach to the sleigh as they are so small, and with handling those balls will likely get knocked off. I recommend trying out painting them with acrylics to add the gold color instead.

Christine

Thank you! I use gorilla glue, the thicker gel kind 🥰

Christine

is it possible to separate the the two balls ? so i can print those in gold also and just glue on ?

Braytak

This is just adorable! What glue do you recommend for the sleigh?

SomethingKlever

Im glad its sorted and happy to help anytime! 🥰🥰

Christine

Thank you very much for the detail photo and updating the files! I really appreciate it. I was happy to change it and did in my file but I just thought maybe I was missing something. I really appreciate your help and think you adding that might help others who are confused as well. Thank you again this is a great design and I'm already getting positive feedback on it.

BlueByLiquid

I should mentioned also and maybe that’s where the confusion is, the reindeer 3mf has 4 colors, the eyes in that exact plate does include the eyes as a different color than the hooves and the antlers. The only thing i changed in the brown deer is assigned the eyes the same color as the hooves and the antlers so that I could paint the nose red. If you are having troubles with the 3mf I can add the brown deer to the zip so that you wouldn’t need to change any colors to get the brown deer.

Christine

I often do several different color versions just to show variation, I don’t include all of my color options as that would mean there would be several of the same 3mf with just different colors. The pink deer is the same 3mf used to print out the brown deer. I didn’t color the noses red as that adds more time and waste to the plate, but as you mentioned it can be easily done if desired. here is a close up of an unedited image of the deer https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DXmZ8WpmITHy_t3pokKHA8RhrFYp3xJi/view?usp=drivesdk

Christine

Hi. Thank you again for the response. I wanted to share some screenshots so you can see what I'm seeing as there is something clearly different (or maybe I just don't understand something). There are no red nosed deer in any of the files I downloaded (I can color the nose red no issues with that but stating it for reference you seem to be indicating it should be there). I have two .3mf files. One has the Tan and brown deer and is called Deer_Flexi_3MF. It has three colors and the eyes are the same as the hoofs and antlers. But that file has no spots on any of the 4 deer. I have included two screenshots to show this. The other file is the called Deer_Flexi_Reindeer_3MF. That file has 4 colors. I'm assumed that is where the dark brown deer come from because there is no other file that has spots and we are supposed to print the pink as brown. In that file the eyes are a very dark grey and the hoofs and ears are a medium grey. Again no red nosed deer in this file either. Maybe there were supposed to be multiple plates in these files that were not included? I'm not trying to challenge you I'm just confused. That is why I'm included a screen shot. I went back and re-unpacked the .zip file just in case I did anything different and it doesn't appear to be. BlueByLiquid

Hmm I’m not sure what else i can say but that they aren’t. The red nosed deer has 4 colors, the forth being the red nose, and was on the same plate as the other brown deer, if the eyes were to be a different color that would mean I used 5 filaments on that plate, and I dont have a 5 filament AMS system.

Christine

Hi. Thanks for your response but I think you may have release a different file then. There are 4 colors. The antlers and hoofs and different materials than the eyes.

BlueByLiquid

The brown dotted deer uses the 3 colors that are in the 3mf. The brown, the beige and the ziro starry sky. The hooves, eyes, and antlers are all the same filament which is ziro starry sky. It’s a gradient filament.

Christine

In your photos the antlers look black on the dark reindeer. Your writeup says 3 colors but the file and model has 4 colors used. Also it says Ziro Starry Sky but none of the colors in those photos look like they use that filament. Can you clarify please?

BlueByLiquid

Super cute! Finished the reindeer and printing the sleigh now. PLEASE tell me you're going to design a Santa for the sleigh! 🙏

martygirl35

Is anyone else having trouble with the reindeer’s with the antlers having spots or does everybody else have spots in their reindeer with the antlers and your slicer?

Kristy Taylor

Ok I sent you a message on Facebook it’s from Kristy Taylor

Kristy Taylor

The sleigh is much bigger than I thought it would be (and still printing) <3

Bruce and Karen

These are adorable! I wasn't originally feeling the sneak peek cuz of how the butts are higher than the front but now with them posed I can see that it gives them that cute clumsy baby type look 🥰 The paint jobs and the sleighs! 😍 LOVE me some add-ons to create sets and YOU ALWAYS DELIVER!

Lisa

can you message me a screen shot of what it looks like in your slicer? you can send it to me on instagram, or on discord, or through email thesprouted@gmail.com
