Ready?

Morning everyone! Halfway through the week so hope you still got fight in you to make it to the weekend.

I started this drawing of Orin last night after getting some commission work going. I've been really hesitant about working on things for myself due to the fear of triggering another panic attack. I overthink way too many things out of my control and it leads down some roads I should walk. Still I don't want this way of behaving to take over so I'm taking steps every day to change my perspective on a lot of things. I set those concepts in motion when I started this drawing and I'm happy to say I followed through with no real problems.

Now lets talk about art. I started this with something simple in mind. I just wanted to draw someone doing like a cool draw stance with a sword and just went with it. I didn't have an intention to paint a background as you can see in the video I just came up with it at the end. When I was finishing the colors initially I realized I was just making another sort of pinup with not too much information for the viewer to gain from and while there's nothing wrong with that Orin and his world is something I want to really explore personally. I want to know what it's like to really fall in love with my art/self. So I started a loose idea of him exploring a dungeon of sorts. He's a treasure hunter. Unfortunately with the lack of foresight I think overall it's a little weak. Towards the end I kind of realized there wasn't anything too interesting going on to really capture interest. I wanted it to say a little more about the world but since this was a piece fixated on Orin's pose it was a little hard. I threw in some things to hopefully build a little curiosity. 

In any case I'm happy I made this and how it turned out. While there's a lot of things I could have done I'm content I got this done at all. I'm always worried about making art that's "simpler" in terms of rendering. I worry that people won't like it because they're use to the highly rendered stuff I think I'm know for? It's silly to concern myself with that. It's good to branch out and have fun.
