The Week That Was: 01/24 - 01/28/2022

Greetings, Nextlanders! I hope you're having a warm, toasty weekend wherever you are. Not that we haven't been staying indoors for the better part of the last two years now, but we extra stayed indoors this weekend as we got something like a foot of snow dumped on us. I've been using that time to catch up on some games, and if you're stuck indoors, maybe you'd like to use that time to catch up on some of last week's Nextlander shows! Eh? See what I did there? Always bringing it back to the content.

Nextlander Stares into Scrap Mechanic and it Stares Back 

No one said these late game Scrap Mechanic challenges were gonna be easy, but Challenge 36 seems to be the first one that's got them Nextlander boys scratchin' their heads. Some combination of the extend-o-arm and the catapult feeeeeeeels like the right solution, but it just doesn't seem like we've quite got the application down yet.

Weekly Ramblecast 033: Shatter That Platter

For this month's Q&A we tackle an array of subjects, including embarrassing former online usernames, our memories of our very first game of the year discussions, and what the precise definition of "retro" in gaming is. 

Patron's Choice for January 2022: Crusader Kings III! 

Our Mission Control and Mysterious Benefactor patrons voted, and this month they wanted to see me try to wrap my feeble mind around Crusader Kings III! And folks, do we ever have a time with this one. Our one-eyed queen Patty the Put-Upon manages to squeeze a lifetime's worth of war, child-bearing, and murder plotting into just a couple of short hours. Will she survive all this skullduggery?
