Joe Bob’s Thought of the Day: Puppy Edition
Added 2022-11-11 16:34:43 +0000 UTCI have a deep-seated fear of cheerful college students standing on the sidewalk with clipboards, telling you what a wonderful day they want you to have and do you have a spare minute to talk about the wounded puppies in Ukraine. Something in the rear lobe of my brain is saying, "There are no wounded puppies in Ukraine and these may be pod people from Venus." Cheerful well-scrubbed young people with clipboards set off all my Scientology/Moonie/Teens For Christ alarms. Which is why I lie to them. "I was a Wounded Puppy donor from the beginning." Am I a bad person?

I'm right there with you, JB! Anyone with a clipboard is clearly up to no good, especially college kids. In fact, college kids seem to be the biggest group of victims and even antagonists in all the movies we watch... I avoid them like the plague!

They clearly don't understand how a complete stranger throwing out compliments is the reddest of all the flags. Or perhaps that's just my trust issues.
