Joe Bob’s Thought of the Day: Texas Theatre Edition
Added 2022-11-22 20:02:29 +0000 UTCFor most of my life, people would get weepy and solemn on November 22nd, but we've finally reached the point where nobody gives a flip. If you wanna do something cool to commemorate the day, go to the Texas Theatre and watch a double feature of "Cry of Battle" and "War Is Hell," the same double feature Lee Harvey Oswald was watching when they arrested him there. They show it every year on this date that apparently no longer matters much.

It’s definitely a generational thing. If you are of a certain age you remember exactly where you were when you heard the news. Unless someone did a TikTok of the horrific events of that day this generation has no clue. Both may be equally horrific 😢🤷♂️

I took my family on vacation in Texas this year (we're from Illinois) and we went everywhere from FW/Dallas to Big Bend NP and everywhere in between. I visited the 6th Floor Museum in Dallas and walked across the street to look at the 'X' up close. Its just surreal that the building where the assassin did his work is now a place for tourists to gawk... I say as one of the gawkers myself.

That's what we get for raising them on cell phones and other screens. We're growing a future filled with people who can't see beyond their own noses. Glad I'm not going to be around.
