2022-10-19 23:17:43 +0000 UTCAn essential oil is an oil that has a scent. Some sents are pleasant, which is why people buy air fresheners, perfumes, and colones. The problem with the term "essential oil," is that essential can also mean "indispensable" or "necessary" for physical or emotional health. There are certain oils that smell nice. I like the sent of lavender and vanilla oils. But, except for a few oils found in foods, there are no "essential oils" in the sense that your health would suffer without them. I can certainly live well without lavender and vanilla, but I would miss them.
