Wasteland Warlords - Chapter One Practice Audio
Added 2022-07-02 20:26:29 +0000 UTCHey everyone! So this is my very first attempt at audio narration. I have my recording space set up and I'm learning how to use Reaper to record and fix my audio. This isn't the final version--there's a good chance I won't even narrate this particular novella (which no one has seen yet, FYI)--but I figured it was perfect to practice on.
Please give me some honest feedback and let me know what you think. I'm still very new to this and have loads to learn before I actually get good at it. Also, for sound quality, this hasn't been to an audio engineer or anything like that. It's just the raw recording, so keep that in mind. Thanks again, and I hope y'all enjoy!

2022-07-15 14:43:30 +0000 UTCFull disclosure, I don't really listen to audiobooks all the time, I prefer to read and let my head fill in colors for the characters. And when I do listen to one, it's usually when I'm at work. But I'll try to give a couple notes. Pacing during the conversations felt a bit off. It felt a bit quick at times and made it hard to follow. This one can be seen as a more personal preference. Narration tone and character thinking tones. I prefer third party narration to be very neutral. It's slightly weird when the narrator is expressively detailing settings. Whereas when a character is thinking to themselves is when I like hearing the emotion. Keep more coming! I do really enjoy learning how the characters sound in the author's head which makes reading all the more immersive for me.
