“The crisis of the soul” is something I researched in the past but I find myself revisiting this often. The soul is often considered to be the mind, will and emotions.
I’ve heard it said that once we receive Jesus into our spirit by receiving His free gift, we are saved and His Spirit lives in us. However, we may still find that we have a crisis of the soul at times…. or a lot of times. That does not mean we aren’t saved or that we don’t have the Spirit in us. This is a matter of where we choose to align our mind/will/emotions.
The “saving” of our spirit for heaven is one and done. The process of lining up our souls (mind/will/emotions) is a journey. It probably involves habits and thought processes that need to be renewed over and over and over.
Just like we need to wash our clothes, we need to wash our minds because they can be easily pulled away from truth if we aren’t careful.
The Lord’s way brings freedom and within His mercy and love, we are brought into the beautiful, broad place.
