Good morning!

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. -Newton’s 3rd law of motion

I have been enjoying listening to lectures about health. Who is surprised about that? Haha

My interest in the human body does not go back as far as my interest in the human mind, however.

While in college, I studied behavioral science, psychology and sociology with fascination. Why and how people think the way they do; what makes people form the mindsets they have; how people that seem to have very negative circumstances can change their course in life and be successful!

I wonder how often we consider this law of motion. For every action there is a reaction. That means if we go lift weights the reaction is the muscle gets tiny tears that hurt and then builds back up in strength. When we don’t move, the reaction is to slowly lose strength.

When we notice symptoms…..any kind of symptoms….whether that be physical or emotional or mental….there is a cause. These symptoms are not the problem. They are just warning signs telling us to look deeper!

Therefore, when I notice that I’m feeling down or lost or emotionally exhausted, it should point me in the direction of the cause. Through thought, prayer, reflection, I can see that I have allowed too much of the world in and have left scraps of time for God. God always sets me straight and I feel rejuvenated so that is always my go-to for direction.

If I am noticing physical symptoms, digestion, jaw, headaches, etc, I can look at what I’m eating, how I’m sleeping, or whatever, and find the cause and fix it.

Most of the time I think we just assume the symptoms are the problem and because of that we pop a pill, zone out on draining activities or other behaviors that worsen the problem or just mask it.

How amazing that God gave us the ability to step back, reflect, analyze and make different choices!

“Don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming!” Galatians 6:9 TPT

Reflection: what symptoms am I having that can be traced to seeds I’ve been planting? What seeds can I start planting instead?

Love this! As we all learn to trust God in everything and look to Him for all of our answers we must not forget the process that will teach us overlook our desired outcomes and embrace the things He values. I hope as we spiritually mature those two things will merge into total alignment.
