Watching Blizzard: It’s still February, right?

The most exciting news of the day is a vaguely defined Hearthstone bug that’s delayed the start of the new season. My advice, Hearthstone team, is to pretend it’s a leap year which would make today February 29 — then the season starting tomorrow would be totally normal and on time. No one would notice the difference. You’ve totally got this!
Well, now that we’ve all determined that it’s actually February 29, let’s take a look at the news roundup for what is absolutely, definitely the last day of February.
Contemplating Hearthstone’s Year of the Raven
- The next Hearthstone Year is starting soon, and we’re wondering just what its first expansion will be.
And speaking of Hearthstone…
- It’s kind of broken right now. The March season hadn’t even begun when Blizzard disabled ranked play due to a bug.
- And it must be a pretty bad bug, because the Hearthstone team has canceled Friday’s livestream about Year of the Raven to focus on resolving the bug. Yikes.
And speaking of ranked play…
- A new season is kicking off in Heroes of the Storm next week, too! And just like Hearthstone, it has its own ranked play changes.
Here’s what’s happening in the alpha
- There are a bunch of spec and spell changes in the latest alpha build. Of course, there’s no telling if they’ll be sticking around.
- Wowhead took a look at the Norwington Equestrian and Hunt Festival today and I, for one, cannot wait.
Have you been suffering through the Diablo 3 public matchmaking bug?
- Good news, because it’s fixed! Probably! For at least some people!
And now onwards to March, where we’ll either get a new Hearthstone season or find out that it’s actually February 30. Because a Hearthstone season is never late, nor is it early: it arrives precisely when it means to. And if that means February is a little longer than usual, that’s just the way it is.
