RJ Ramblings
Added 2020-12-07 15:04:01 +0000 UTCHey all. Last week was pretty great actually, and I'm in a very good mood right now and looking forward to getting to work on the game this week. I have a few things on my mind, so here we go.
First of all, I wanted to remind everybody about the Discord Server. I've mentioned it before, but I don't talk about it much, and I'd love to see more of you on there. I've started posting preview images of whatever I happen to be working on there as well, if you're interested in that. Soon I'm going to try posting here on Patreon a little less, but I'll pretty much always be around on the Discord.
I got some feedback on my game last week that was extremely helpful and they taught me how to use a denoiser correctly to dramatically increase the quality of my images. Not only does this make the images look better, but it will also allow me to render faster. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this goes and I expect it to improve the quality of the game significantly.
You'll notice that I did a cross-promotion with lydcreations on Saturday. I'm going to be doing these when I get the chance, but only one a week max. I'll try not to post too many, because I know that it annoys some people, but I hope you will understand that when I post things like that on this page, it means that they are also posting my game on their page, which will hopefully drive up some traffic, bringing in more money for me, which allows me to make the game better. Right now, I am spending more on the game every month than I am making and I just wont be able to continue that forever, so I'm trying very hard to market the game a little more, even though it's something I'm not very good at.
Aside from the game, I didn't do a whole lot last week. Playing Hyrule Warriors made me want to play other Zelda games, so I played through Link's Awakening on the Switch, which was super cute and fun, and now I'm playing through A Link Between Worlds on my 3DS, which is amazing so far. Had the gang over for D&D yesterday, which was fun. Then we finished the day off by watching a fun-bad martial arts movie called Martial Law.
