Yo!!!!!

Hello my beautiful patrons, let me start with this first text-post-blog-update by just expressing how grateful I am that you guys like the work I'm doing and want to be along for the ride. Thank you immensely for your support and I really feel there are some exciting things coming down the pipeline.

I'm working on a few different projects right now and I think it would be only fair to let you peek behind the curtain to see what's up. Number one is the Beetle Moses webcomics which will keep comin in hot, and you all will be the first to see them. Some of you may be aware that I'm represented by a syndicate right now called King Features. So aside from the fact that I love drawing comics, I actually have a contractual obligation to keep them coming. It's a lot of work, but I've found it to be a great school of discipline in just making, making, making. I hope you like the comics because there's a hell of a lot more on the way.

Second, I got a good response on the art advice video I made. A week after I uploaded it to Patreon, I decided to share it on youtube and it's the most views I've ever gotten on my channel. I was planning on recording more videos sometime in the future but because of the awesome response, that schedule just got pushed way up! I have two videos in mind I'm currently writing a script for. One that's more advice but specific to comics, and another video which I think will be a fair bit longer. I've had this idea/thesis I want to explore in detail which compares webcomics and internet art to graffiti, in that these are the only two forms of visual art I can think of which are intended to catch a viewer "off guard" AKA at a time they were not expressly seeking out art, with the goal of grabbing and holding their attention. One is online and one is IRL, and of course the process couldn't be more different, but I think there's an interesting line to be drawn (no pun intended) and I want to explore it.

Finally, I've been pretty hush-hush about it, but I am currently working on a graphic novel, specifically a pitch deck to find an interested publisher. This hasn't been announced on any of my social media, but I've hinted at it and some of you may have already seen some art. It's called Rottingwood, and it's been the project taking up most of my time day-to-day. I'd like to present you guys with what I have so far, but it deserves its own post(s) so I'll find an interesting way to give you guys behind the scenes on that. Little sneaky sample page attached to this post...

Really looking forward to showing you guys more behind the scenes and watching this community grow together. I love the art you've been posting in the discord! I'll be in touch, talk soon.

Yo!!!!!
