New 14-page comic on the way!

Hello beetlegang. Much love to you all on this blessed Saturday morning. Last night I finished the ink drawings and scans for all the pages of a new story I’ve been working on. I really extended myself and my abilities on this one so I can’t wait to share it with you. Of course my Patreon peeps are going to see it in advance.

I’ve posted here some of the character art for the story— I had to come up with the creatures themselves, but more challenging was designing vehicles and clothing which were integral parts of the storyline. I’m really excited with how the black and whites turned out, but instead of uploading those, I figured I’ll save it. That way you can see the completed project in full color all at once, and then I’ll post behind the scenes and process. Just don’t want to spoil it on the front end.

My coloring process has become much longer in recent months, but it’s also the most relaxing to me. I really like spending the extra time to shade and detail. Which, to be fair, is still quite simple-looking in my final work compared to some digital artists out there. But I do think it separates my work from many of my webcomic contemporaries, since the medium invites simplicity. This story in particular feels like a culmination of the type of storytelling I enjoy most, and I think could read as a more refined version of my story Druzy (which is also available on here to paying members if you haven’t checked it out yet).

Okay, as I'm typing this, I'm like lemme just post a single page. So the last image here is the black and white scan of my ink drawing, and now this week is going to be spent coloring all the pages. It'll be fun and when I'm in the zone I can get a lot done in a short amount of time. Have a good feeling the completed project will be done before next week is over.
