2018-05-17 18:41:17 +0000 UTCLet me preface this by saying I happen to be a trans-lady with (I think) a pretty good sense of humor, but I don't care for the word tranny, never have because it's been, over the years, co-opted by ignorant ppl to make us feel like sub-human freaks, which society does enough of already. And i don't really have a desire to "reclaim" something used to keep ppl like me down. Why would I? I don't consider myself weak for being offended by words, since I'm also a witch and a writer and realize words are pretty fucking powerful things...and they can hurt. It's also good to have boundaries and say, "I don't like this. Stop." I know drag culture does feel comfortable making use of it and while it doesn't thrill me, I can understand it in that context. I do applaud Sextia N'eight for apologizing to the trans performer who was offended, however, and Dan for not using it either, it shows empathy and sensitivity. I <3 you guys. Now about that HUSSY, Nicole Harbor. I decidedly do NOT <3 her. Although her trans video was surprisingly innocuous, her little music video escapade was beyond offensive. I don't know who the fuck she means when she says "y'all requested i talk about...blah" what kinda people are requesting this inflatable yeast-queef gives her two cents about community issues that don't concern her or her privileged ass one whit? Really, I can't with her...she needs to stop, but I know she won't because Nicole is in love with the sound of her own voice. Ugh, still she's pretty great fodder. Rick's storytelling is top-notch, perfection as always. I think "Storytime with Mr. Serra" should become a permanent fixture. Anyway...long post, i know, but fabulous work, as usual. Can't wait for the next one ^_^
