DSS version 0.8.1 beta is released!

Unfortunately, there are very few features that have actually been implemented in this version. Please consider this version as an experiment in combining the custom character addition feature with the hanging simulation. I will continue to add additional features and improve the existing ones.


The animation method that I have found is very useful for controlling ragdolls and imitating the desired behavior. I have created many animations, but only a few are actually useful. I need your collective data on this. Please give me a lot of feedback on the character's gestures in the hanging simulation! I believe that if I add the opinions of my game's users, I can greatly contribute to the development of the game.


I definitely think that almost all the negative reactions that some users have raised are my fault. What made me cry more than that was your warm encouragement. I was very encouraged by the support of so many people. Please give me a little more time. (Actually, it is likely not a little) I will definitely create results that you will be satisfied with.


The simulations that will be added in the future will not be given an almost completely free environment like the previous version, but will be conducted in a limited environment. It is important to have a high degree of freedom, but there are many results that can only be created by giving up some of this. You will be able to see this clearly in the next version of the simulation.


Most of the rough features have been completed, but the additional work required to add the custom character feature has been more than expected. In particular, there are many things to consider because the length and size of the limbs differ depending on the size model. Also, there are cases where the structure of bones and materials are different depending on the model. For now, we have created a system that automatically adjusts to optimize for the game, but this is not friendly to models with too much size difference. In the future, we will add a function that allows the player to control the collision range, and we will improve it so that no major errors occur even if they are handled roughly.


The features that will be updated first in the next version are as follows:

- Arm and leg options

- Limited hanging simulation (escape mode)

- Indoor room map and park map

- Suffocation and strangulation simulation (custom mode, escape mode)

- Added animations and sounds

次のバージョンで優先的に更新される機能は次のとおりです。

@margazerab Unfortunately, I think your assessment was spot on. And whenever he will realize that and turn back could be a long process. As a retired Unity professional, this game beats all the AAA, illusion, etc for me. I love it so much so, I ripped the 0.71 exe, rebuilding it and making my own version instead. Insert some missing sounds and more animations, etc. Of course, to respect his work, I won't distribute it, but my horny ass surely can't wait...haha... You'd be surprised how many apps on the Appstore are complete spaghetti. So do what you will and I support your diligent work either way. Heazhan.

You can't build a castle on a foundation of sand. The dev stated in a previous blog that since he was new to coding the previous versions code structure was unstable and they wanted to start over and do a better job with the experience and knowledge they have gained. They seem to be confident with the new version and I don't see why they would go back to the previous one in which they feel they coded themselves into a corner. I understand wanting new content quicker, I really do. But patience is necessary. The dev feels like this new version has greater potential and if they succeed, we get an even better game to play with.

Clearly, you won the internet with what you did. It works, it's stable, and it can be tweaked. Have fun, try, explore, experiment, and come back to the roots when it's clear you can't advance anymore. That's my advice, but of course you are the master-captain of your own ship. Do as you want, and I hope you'll have fun nonetheless, but I feel that you made it a chore by trying something new (it took you a lot of time and you seemed to struggle) and it feels that when you worked on your "baby" project before, you loved it so much. Allow yourself to feel that again. From an artist to an other.

So.. As an artist, sometimes it's important to recognize when you're in a dead end and come back to a previous version to make it better. I think this is one of those times. You lost a lot by doing what you did here, and a lot of concepts were forgotten and those concept were great in your previous versions. Upgrading an engine doesn't mean change everything. You tried, but it is clear to me that you will lose a lot (and I mean a lot) of time just to try to bring back features that you already had before. So, It's time to cut the upgrade project and come back to your roots and to the original project. You didn't lose anything. All you did gave you a lot of experience and that experience is precious, you'll soon see why and how. But I feel, and it seems clear to me that a lot of people saw that here (please tell me if I'm wrong) that your attempt here is blinding you from your talent : you did a great, great job (not just "good", but great !) with your previous versions.

I think you're on a great way! The option of having the custom vrm import is great and has worked without problems for me thus far ! It's going to open a lot of new options for the game so I'm excited for the game to move forward with that feature at the core. I'm excited for where you'll take this! (At this moment, with the low framerate, the character spawning in and then slow-mo running at me head is like in a horror movie haha. Gave me a good laugh!)

5) The new UI is very huge and in the way. I preferred the look of the 0.71 menu and also the more detailed info we had about the girls state beyond just oxygen and health 6) I'm assuming this is linked to the framerate issue, but the jump at this moment is way too high & floaty. (not a high priority issue) 7) The houses and props seem like very low priority items to be in the game before more pressing issues like more devices (or my personal favourites, the drowning options haha. I understand their inclusion will take a while but I am already excited for them. ) 8) At this point the animations have lost some of their excitement, but I am sure that is still to improve along the development!

2) I preferred the way the camera handled in the previous version. I understand that in this version you are taking the perspective of a person so that restricts you to the POV view of a person of average height, but that keeps you from the properly looking at the characters from below or seeing them on the floor unless you're willing to constantly press the crouch button. (After writing this I just found out the Noclip Option comes very close to the previous camera so I'm grateful the option to switch between them exists!) 3) The curser being locked to the middle of the screen is very headache inducing when you want to i.e. use the drag feature. I want to be able to maneuver camera and pull the cursor separately from each other, as in 0.71 4) I miss the many sounds the girls made, I hope this will come back in the future. As of right now they're very quiet.

Your game has come a long way! I am a big fan of where your game was at 0.71 so seeing a complete restart is unexpected but interesting. Unfortunately at the current time I am having massive performance issues / a lot of lag, which makes the game un-enjoyable. Overall here's my suggestions and I hope that they might help! 1) I think the map is oversized and too detailed for the start. Just the 'room' we spawn in is plenty big enough to spawn a lot of items & characters into and I'd consider it oversized already, but we have 9 times that space! I assume the polycount is pretty high and it's causing grief in the rendering process. I appreciate the good intention for the detailed surroundings, but I think that shouldn't come at the cost of performance. (Also I find the look of the realistic castle walls and the cute anime girls a little mismatched, but that's personal preference)

Great development so far, thank you, heazhan. Yet low FPS. In versions pre 0.3 and VRM Tester everything ran smooth while fullscreen. In later versions game required windowed mode to run smooth. Now it runs slow even windowed and in lowest resolution. Maybe an ultra low graphics setting can fix this.

I have to say I love it when they close their eyes while fainting and you can wake them by hanging them. I also love the fainting animation, which reminds me of the Pwese Uwu. 👉👈 It's my favorite.

you can drag on a little before the device becomes unstable. It's okay if you delay stability of the rope and develop the features that existed in the previous version, and work on bugs and stability later.

I really hope this is purely for experimenting with custom vrm characters in your game. The animation is a bit lacking, could be more variations, right now it's very predictable and dull in a sense. All characters react in the same way and they can recover with easy if unsuspended before going to 0 health. Where they lie very predictably in the same way every time. I'm assuming all features will be readded, but as you have had to rewrite everything I understand there is time and testing before moving to the next stage in development. The keys are extremely awkward and you don't need to change L and J. Same with O and U which is now P and O. People like me who have written personal macros have to remap my keys, and my memory of how everything functions. As of right now it's really easy to accidentally assign the last character to a spawned object when having the menu open and choosing a new spawn, sometimes causing the game to crash. I'd like a more stable rope that...

yeah, I experiencing them too, they are stalls probably CPU/GPU syncs/barriers, maybe the shaders are trying to get informations from the render target, as depending on how I look the object color become a bit distorted

I played it and its good but it has some issues,bur its mostly on the gameplay and not on the animations or others so the problem is the simulation is lagging,i dont know why but i guess its due to the map,so in the previous version where the environment were just rooms or small areas,it didnt lag but during hunt mode it lagged probably due to the map size,and i am using laptop so maybe it cant handle the graphics,but i think the lagging problem will be solved if we can choose our environment like 0.7 beta. except these, all of the new features were worth the patience,particularly the import vrm feature. like me i think everyone who played are satisfied and supports you! Thanks for making this wonderful game!.

Considering game feedback i marked following issues: 1) In-game vrm choose menu necessary, gives a lot of trouble while system-interrupting 2) Character behaviours need to be added, following is good, but at least strolling around or something will be good in long run. 3) Force of animations would be nice to differ more vividly depending on char state(asphyxating, blacked out, almost dead, etc). 4) Some maps, especially water-containing can be made leveled or maze-like - would be fun as for me. Only 1st issue is of crucial importance. All the rest are really optional but would be nice to see.

my monitor is 165hz. And now that I played it again i can pinpoint it a bit more. it's not the game itself but the castle, the models and the placeable objects that look very stutter-y when flying around and looking at them during motion.

you are probably experiencing microstutters, in this case unlocking FPS won't help at all. 60 fps should not feel choppy at all (unless you are playing a competitive game and you have a monitor above 60 hz refresh rate)

Now I am hoping the garrote device isn't removed forever because it's a "troublesome" device for custom characters. I hope they find a good way to adjust the sitting garrote with custom characters and height. It might take a another year to figure something out but I'm all in for it

Ok, I know what exactly causes the lag—it's the VRM model! When I'm looking at the sky, I have 60 FPS, but when I look at the model, it drops to 40 FPS. In full-screen mode, I only get 15 FPS. :(

Can I just say, this is a great achievement, I am thoroughly pleased by the progress you've made so far, we can even create our own models if we can't find anything specific (or even tweak the ones that already exist if we have permission to do so), I'm looking forward for what you can do in the future. Can't wait for the underwater update (not literally, but you get it, I hope).

The import function of the VRM model really works well, but only if I'm able to find the decent models. I was hoping you share the strangle options, but i notice that can be troublesome with the import VRM in place so can see why this would take longer to work with because every VRM models clearly comes in different size and length as you mentioned. As always, take your time and I look forward to your next update!

I'm glad you are sticking with this rebuild! It's looking great so far, I like being able to walk around with the characters and assign them to things rather than them being stuck to it. It makes it more immersive than before. This is a solid foundation and I'm confident you will be able to add to it and improve it as time goes on, just as you did with the old version. The character model is a improvement over the previous version. I hope you add more models of this or better quality. What I think you should prioritize improving: 1. The animations: you already mentioned to be working on these so i won't add much more here. animations are very stiff and static. 2. The sounds: both characters and equipment should have appropriate sounds. It would be nice if characters made different sounds when different equipment is used. hanging, chocking, strangling and suffocation should all have different sounds. if you are planning on returning things like poison injection or electric chair it would be great if they had unique sounds. 3. The stability/performance/UI/: Currently the game seems to be locked at 60 fps but even that 60 fps is kinda choppy. would be nice if you could unlock the framerate and improve the performance of the game a bit. The ui is also a bit uncomfortable to use right now 4. more content. This is what gets people the most excited

Also, besides the huge frame drops and lag at 15 fps in full-screen mode and very low fps of 40-50 with a small screen, I noticed a bug where if you click on a model that is already hanging on a large gallows, you can place it on two or maybe even more loops! I really hope for optimization and better fps!

When I spawn something and then press the spacebar multiple times, the button keeps getting pressed and spawns a bunch of identical objects. It's very annoying, and it's bad that there isn't a delete button yet, so I have to restart the world. Also, on Full HD settings, my FPS lags a LOT, and the model movements are very slow, and there’s no setting to increase them. The hands are very stiff, but I can still see your work, good job! I'll be waiting for the fixes! Thanks for your work!

总结一下目前遇到的游玩bug或者说困难: 1. 按照作者的教程,将pmx文件转化为vrm,经常出现下半身无法活动的情况,有的时候看起来像是腿的动作匹配到背后的飘带了。 2. 光照异常,导入的模型会出现整个人物全部被光照渲染成黄白色的情况。 3. 人物的表情太难绑定了,没有用过blender的人完全不清楚哪个表情应该绑定到哪个对象上,(如果可能的话)能导入支持pmx这种更常见的角色文件格式就好了。 游戏自带的人物都没有上面的问题

realy cool ! just tried it. So here is what I found: I was unable to make the character enter the barn (cant lift their feet) 2. No phisics, once the girls are swinging, they are rock solid and can't be swayed arround by pulling or pushing. 3. Controls and everything work realy great! Cant wait for the restrains (there are currently none). Will there be diffrend noose materials too? greetings.

When I place a character on the gallows, the model somehow looks a bit smaller. Is it because part of their feet is sinking into the ground? Also, if a character's already on one gallows, trying to put them on another makes them twitch out. But hey, compared to the previous version, the changes are really significant! The UI, the scenes...I can see how much effort and passion the creator has poured into this. Mad respect! As for the hanging simulation, I’d personally love to see more intense struggles. But as someone who’s personally experienced hanging as a hobbyist, I gotta say some of the "pass out" reactions are more realistic than the previous version! Anyway, your work is seriously the most unique game I've ever seen. I absolutely love it! Looking forward to future updates!

In regard to the character's gestures in the hanging, my suggestion as follows: When the character's arms are free, they will go through five stages: 1. trying to grab her neck in panic - 2. weakened struggle and difficult to lift the arms - 3. decorticate rigidity - 4. decerebrate rigidity (accompanied by cramps) - 5. going limp.

游戏效果很棒,但是有个导入角色方面的问题我没有头绪解决,向作者反馈一下: 跟着作者的教程把pmx模型转换成vrm以后导入,人物的下半身姿势固定在初始状态了,腿部不能移动。 是骨骼什么的有问题吗?因为我没有使用blender的经验,不知道如何解决这个问题,如果作者或者其他朋友能告诉我怎么操作的话非常感谢。 (附上另一个我遇到的问题的解决方式:如果你的vrm模型导入游戏以后人物尺寸过大,可以在blender里面按s,然后用鼠标缩放人物大小,直到尺寸合适后再导出使用)
