At the start of each new Step you'll get to change what you call her, or keep it the same, but her skin tone and hair texture remains as it always has been for the whole game.

100% agree - I always cringed whenever MC called Noelani 'Ma'. I am Canadian-Australian, anything other than Mum or maybe Mom feels horribly wrong.
