This was so good! Really felt like a return to form of the OG Dexter. I’m glad I wasn’t paying attention to the online discourse when I watched this, as I never latched onto needing the NY Ripper thread to be named or resolved amidst the rest of the storylines. It always felt like a world-building thread and not a primary plot point for this season for me, so I found the finale satisfying. I’m glad our neurodivergent detective Queen gets such a piping hot lead to satisfy her case obsession. Pretty nice gift from Dexter to her! They really pulled out all stops with the caliber of talent they brought to this. Obviously Uma and Peter are standouts, but I’ve been a fan of Krysten Ritter since Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23, and was a HUGE fan of Jessica Jones, so it was wonderful to see her kill her role too. Speaking of talent, I’m also grateful that I went into it not knowing the cast list at all—the unfolding of familiar faces over the episodes was such a delightful surprise!! I was really like 🔍👀🤯 is that Uma??? Absolutely wonderful. It’s nice that there’s such an open-ended set up for upcoming seasons. Hopefully they keep this same energy! Bummer about Angel though. Poor guy 😔

I was like wtf I'm not even high yet and I'm seeing shit! 😅 The one thing that pissed me off about this season is that Dexter never told Charley or Prater that Gemini was a twin. Really wanted to see their reactions to that. It's funny cause on my own I wasn't thinking about the NY Ripper, then I noticed the internet theorizing about it. So then I started to as well, thinking everyone was onto something I was not. But I think that's probably the last we hear about it, now that Claudette found the file. Pretty sure Dexter left her that on purpose as well. He just saw what an unsolved case can do to a person, with Batista. Realized during your reaction that Dexter having killed Prater, no one is gonna be paying for Charley's mothers continued health care.
