2025-09-10 18:00:21 +0000 UTCAmy Madigan played Gladys. I avoided most things about Weapons before seeing it, but at some point I did see a post about how good she was in the movie. That's how I found out she was in it, as I never would have recognized it was her in the press photos. She was in this show Carnivale about 20 years ago, it's where I know her from (also where I found Clancy Brown). Toby Huss, who played the police chief in this was also in Carnivale, so that was a nice lil Easter egg for me! I liked this movie, but I like Barbarian a lot more. Things I liked about Weapons also worked against it for me. Like the structure following different characters. I liked it, but by doing that it took a lot longer for me to be on board with it. Whereas Barbarian I was fully on board before Tess ever stepped foot into the house. Between both movies I don't think Zach Cregger knows how to end a story. Both end very abruptly, but it works a bit better in Barbarian. There are very few things I think could be more terrifying than being chased by a mob of murderous children though, I'll tell you that!
