HI-09 Kill Animation Progression

HI-09's kill animations are handled a lot differently than Shipwrecked's. Back around that time, I used one single kill sound and kinda re-used it for every single character, a 'la Scott Cawthon. In hindsight I feel it was a little lazy and I wanted to step up my approach for HI-09!

So, you'll see my process here. I usually will start with a version of the sounds that is like... very light in a sense? I just add what is needed to get the motion right. You'll also notice that some parts of the animation just, stop suddenly, and that's because by then, their time in the camera has stopped.

After I have the movements, I add a second pass of the audio, for Giovanni, the human-like screaming, and for Walter, you can hear Howlz being dropped to the ground and being knocked out.

Then, I move the animation to Unreal, where I focus on lighting, VFX, and so on!

Due to HI-09's nature as a site-based project, the jumpscares are all png sequences, as opposed to Mp4 files!
