Barry's Patreon - Year Two

To my Hydrettes (and all my listeners),

I can't believe it's been almost a full year already! Thank you all so much for supporting me and my work. When I first started this Patreon I never would have though to have such profound and enduring support from all of you. I expected a few bucks here and there. Gas money, caffeine money, certainly not groceries money or mortgage money. Well. You all humbled me with exactly how generous you decided to be here, and my gratitude is more than I can express.

Being an entirely self-motivated, self-organized, self-produced project here, has opened my eyes to what I'm capable of. So, beyond the financial support, you the wisdom I've gained from this experience is nothing short of a gift to me.

But, what good is wisdom if left unapplied? Let's get into the changes I'm making for Year Two:

My most consistent problem over the last year has been over-promising and under-delivering. The level of stress that this problem has caused me is, honestly, immense, and I'm sick to death of it. Therefore, the first order of business is setting right my commitment to you by properly defining what subscribing to each tier gets you, moving forward. The zero-th order of business would be fixing my existing content to this new framework...

Clarity on Tiers, Content, and Pricing

On August 1st of this year, I will be making the following changes to access to my Patreon content:

Hydrette Tier ($5/month):

• All AMAs (including Couples' AMAs with Lizzi) will remain in the Hydrette tier.

• All SFW audios will be moved to the Hydrette tier.
  

• All NSFW audios that are unscripted/rambles will be moved to the Hydrette tier.
  

• Parched After Dark Tier ($10/month):
  
  

All NSFW audios that were produced with a script and/or immersive editing will be moved to the Parched After Dark tier.

• Midnight Bar Tier ($15/month):
  
  

All "Overheards" will be moved to the Midnight Bar tier.

All NSFW audios that were directly commissioned will be moved to the Midnight Bar tier.

Why these changes:

Over the last year, the quality of my audio recording process has (thankfully!) been steadily increasing. I know my newer audios will sound better, feel better, and be written and performed better.

That said, I do need to ensure that the audios that require writing/editing/scene transitions/immersive editing/background music are properly priced for the time I invest in them. Time has been my worst bottleneck throughout this process. The second-worst, of course, being fatigue.

At the start of the year, my vision for this Patreon was overambitious to say the least. In addition to my four monthly Quinn audios, and one to two monthly BloomStories audios, I really wanted to do four Patreon-exclusive audios. Every attempt I made was an overextension. Minor illnesses became major setbacks, and I was denying offers to rest. Falling behind is the surest way for me to feel a ton of anxiety, and feeling anxiety is the antithesis of feeling sexy.

Reducing my stated output locks me in to the stated content here, but massively alleviates my stress. The intent is to deliver quality and consistency, and, if feasible, increase volume over time.

One big distinction I had to make was the effort involved in audios that need a script and audios that can be improvised. I had it in my head that I "couldn't" improv audios, but it ended up just being an underdeveloped skill. By neglecting that skill there was a lot of creativity that I was leaving on the table, believe it or not. Look to my recent Quinn audios titled "Longing" for an example of what kinds of improv audios I'm attempting on that side.

Changes to Direct Commissions

Effective August 1st, 2025:

- New commission pricing:

- "Fantasy Review/Discussion" format

- $50 per 5 minutes

- "Send me your fantasy and I'll go over it in depth on mic for you."

- Direct-to-listener POV. Includes mood ambience SFX, and basic editing.

- 10 minute minimum

- Immersive Roleplay format

- $75 per 5 min

- "Let me immerse you in your hottest fantasy."

- Roleplay POV. Produced with a script and immersive SFX/editing.

- 10 minute minimum

Why these changes:

The old pricing was convoluted! Too many options, too much math. This way the process is far more approachable. I will be lightly revising my guidelines and limitations when it comes to commissions; that will also go live on August 1st.
