A single shaft of light pierces the fog

In the shadow-laden Village of Barovia, a single shaft of light pierces the fog, marking the entrance to the Blood on the Vine tavern. Once a place of finer tastes, the tavern has seen better days, its sign altered as if to mock its own decline. It's the only refuge for the village's fearful residents, who live under the constant watch of Castle Ravenloft and its vampire lord, Strahd von Zarovich.

Inside, the atmosphere is tense. Arik, the barkeep, cleans glasses, his voice as hollow as the villagers' hopes. The tavern is owned by three Vistani and frequented by Ismark Kolyanovich, son of the village burgomaster. He's deeply concerned for his sister, Ireena, who bears an unsettling resemblance to Strahd's lost love, Tatyana. Strahd's obsession with Ireena is well-known; he intends to make her his eternal bride.

As you step in, whispers fill the air, and all eyes turn to you. Are you here to join Ismark in his quest to protect Ireena, or do you have other plans? Either way, the Blood on the Vine offers more than just food and drink; it's a gateway to the mysteries and dangers that envelop this cursed village.
