His father held highly conservative views on stereotypical ideas of masculinity and femininity, which led him to oppose Adil's interests. He constantly pressured Adil by imposing the responsibility of supporting the family on him. The father dismissed Adil's passion for drawing, deeming it a foolish hobby that could never turn into a career or provide for a family. He despised Adil’s personality, behavior, and hobbies, labeling them as overly feminine and viewing Adil as weak. His father’s domineering nature stifled Adil’s ability to mature and make independent choices.
Jay’s relationship with his mother is somewhat simpler. Born in Poland, Jay moved to the U.S. with his mother at the age of 12. Jay’s mother is a devout Christian, kind but highly naive. She struggled significantly with adapting to life in a new country, forcing Jay to grow up quickly and take on the role of the adult in their household. She depends on Jay for everything, assuming the role of a child herself and expecting her son to manage her life entirely.

2025-09-22 23:33:56 +0000 UTCI’m most surprised with Adil looking a lot older as a teenager than in present. I mean, not physically but his eyes and expression are sharp/thoughtful, while when he’s all grown he lowkey has those puppy eyes when there’s not a single thought in them
