Zoya was supposed to leave on the same day David arrived. She managed to introduce David to Ulyana, show him the apartment where he would be staying, and then had to leave him because she was in a rush to catch her train.
Zoya promised David that very soon Lev, her older son, would return from training and tell David more details about everything. Lev knew more than Zoya since he had been taking care of Ulyana all this time, so it made more sense to ask him.
Waiting in the apartment until the evening, David met Lev.
But the meeting didn’t go well. Lev chose to ignore David and was quite rude to him. Although he was surprised and even a little embarrassed that the new doctor was so young. Doctors before had always been old and unpleasant people.
Despite this, Lev was not happy with David's presence. With each new doctor and new prescribed medication, Ulyana's condition worsened. Lev wanted them to just leave his sister alone, but he didn’t have the right to make such a decision.
So, all he could do was show his displeasure to David, implying that he wasn’t welcome in the family.
