New Video: Quick History of Calories vs. Hormones

Hey everyone,

New video on Calories vs. Hormones. I know I've covered this kind of thing a couple times already, but I thought the historical perspective is really important. The timeline of calorimeter vs. radioimmunoassay was something I read about a long time ago but stuck with me for a while - by that time, I was already skeptical of tracking Calories and quite frankly was baffled why so many people are quick to defend it.
It made so much sense that if you give an idea a 100 year head start, it will strongly take root, even if it's not the most productive idea.

I realize calorie counting works for plenty of people, and it's not fair to say "Calories 100% don't matter at all."
But, it also causes a lot of confusion for many more people whilst hindering them from gaining a proper understanding of biology and what is important for health.

If the question is "Is there something better than calories to track?" I'd say definitely.

Also I realize this video was a lot shorter than usual, I'm hoping to strike a balance with in depth vids and succinct ones with a clear point.

Looking forward to any questions/comments!

-Joseph

Interesting that Dr. Hallberg (specialized in diabetes reversal in obese persons), restricted carbs in her patients diets but told them to eat whenever they feel hungry: <a href="https://youtu.be/-N2o2Ux7Lw0?t=16m17s" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/-N2o2Ux7Lw0?t=16m17s</a> Type 2 diabetes patients had either seen their insulin intake decreased (87% of them) or completely eliminated it <a href="https://youtu.be/-N2o2Ux7Lw0?t=25m24s" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/-N2o2Ux7Lw0?t=25m24s</a> She also believes that tracking calories is counterproductive: <a href="https://youtu.be/-N2o2Ux7Lw0?t=30m13s" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/-N2o2Ux7Lw0?t=30m13s</a> You mentioned diabetes in several of your videos, but have you probed into this "<i>impossible</i> to cure diabetes" topic? It could be a good follow up topic to this particular video (your video).
