*Chapter 181: Can the Sharingan Compare to the Rinnegan?*

It constantly rains in the Land of Rain! People here often say that their country is weeping.

Today, however, was quite unexpected; the sky cleared up.

In the Land of Rain, sunny days are a rare occurrence.

"Where did Konan go?"

Nagato, in a rare move, sought out Uchiha Obito, who was hiding in the shadows.

After Obito's true identity was exposed by Raijin, it wasn't made public in the ninja world. Only the high-level members of Konoha were aware of it.

After all, there was no point in exposing it to the entire ninja world; airing out such personal matters would be embarrassing.

So Obito felt somewhat fortunate. If his identity had been exposed, all his years of effort in the Akatsuki would have been in vain.

If Nagato no longer trusted him, he'd likely be kicked out of the Akatsuki's core.

"Konan? Isn't that woman always with you?"

Obito was rather surprised by Nagato's unexpected arrival.

He usually played the role of an invisible man within the Akatsuki, only pushing Nagato to collect the Tailed Beasts. As for the actions of others, he didn't bother to control them.

Since there weren't enough people right now, it was impossible to collect the Tailed Beasts. Obito was in a laid-back state.

"Hmph! Where is Zetsu? Konan was called out by Zetsu this morning," Nagato, controlling Pain, raised a hand and pointed at Obito. "There hasn't been any news since! Get Zetsu out here."

Right now, his only remaining kin is Konan. If anything were to happen to her, Nagato would truly go mad.

Obito's face darkened, and the next moment, a black-and-white head emerged from the wall.

"Pain, Konan went outside the Hidden Rain Village. Some of its people were in trouble, and she went to rescue them. But it's a bit complicated—they ran into Danzo's men from Konoha and are currently entangled with them," Black Zetsu said to Pain.

It was surprising how sensitive Pain was; he got anxious as soon as Konan left for a while. This guy's weakness was too obvious, but that worked to their advantage, making him especially easy to control.

"Hmph! In the future, let the Akatsuki members handle such matters. Konan is the angel of the Hidden Rain Village; she only punishes those who commit sins there. Do not let Konan involve herself in matters outside the village again. If this happens again—"

"Boom!"

Pain shot a cold glare at Black Zetsu and Obito, and with his hand aimed at a cup next to Obito, the cup shattered into pieces under immense pressure. This was meant to intimidate Obito.

Nagato's figure quickly left Obito's place, leaving behind two people with grim expressions. Black Zetsu was used to it, thinking that he could endure a bit more humiliation. But Uchiha Obito was a sensitive person. If it weren't for following Uchiha Madara's plan, he would have given these guys a taste of his wrath by now.

Forget it! Might as well go wander around Konoha.

Nagato, controlling Pain, arrived outside the Hidden Rain Village. But once he moved away from the core of the village, controlling Pain wasn't as easy. He couldn't use as much chakra as he could within the Hidden Rain Village and could only perform simple actions.

Pain flew in the air, using the Rinnegan's vision to scout around. Sure enough, he sensed Konan's chakra in one location. His figure descended and flew toward her.

Several Konoha ninja were closing in on Konan.

"Shinra Tensei!" (Almighty Push!)

A powerful force instantly blasted the Konoha ninja in front of Konan away.

"Pain?"

Konan looked in surprise at the figure before her; she didn't expect Nagato to come here. But in the next moment, Konan seemed to realize something, and her expression changed.

"Leave quickly, Pain. This is a trap."

Konan waved her hand toward Pain, urging him. She hadn't expected Pain to show up here. She had already sensed that something was off.

"A trap?"

Pain squinted his eyes, gazing at the now-deceased Konoha ninja. Their clothes slowly faded, revealing a white hue as their bodies gradually transformed into White Zetsu. Suddenly, a chill ran down Pain's spine, as if a thorn had been lodged in his heart.

"Who would have thought you'd be this cautious? Black Zetsu and I put in quite a bit of effort, yet you still saw through it."

"Originally, I wanted to see your Akatsuki organization break into Konoha to avenge Konan, but it looks like that won’t be happening now."

Uchiha Raijin's figure slowly appeared behind Konan! His sudden appearance left Konan completely frozen.

The cursed seals that emerged on her body made even the slightest movement a luxury. She had no idea how this guy had gotten behind her—Konan hadn’t sensed anything at all. She didn’t notice Uchiha Raijin's sudden arrival whatsoever.

"Uchiha..."

Nagato was the first to notice Uchiha's distinctive Sharingan. Not long ago, he had heard about the Uchiha's rebellion, but he didn’t expect to be confronted here.

"It seems you know the name of our Uchiha clan quite well," Raijin said. "But do you think your Rinnegan can stop me from killing her?"

Raijin picked up a kunai and pressed it against Konan's neck. If he moved just a little, Konan would be reporting to the underworld today.

His original plan was different—he intended to capture Konan and create the illusion of her death, causing Konoha some additional trouble. However, he didn’t expect Nagato to arrive so soon, and Konan had even sensed his plan, which made Raijin feel a bit troubled.

Danzo, Madara—those guys’ plans were going smoothly, but why were things so troublesome for him? These guys paved the way ahead, leaving no path for him at all.

"Uchiha traitor! Instead of hiding and barely surviving after leaving Konoha, you dare come to our Amegakure. Or do you think your Sharingan can compete with my Rinnegan?"

A sharp glint flashed through Pain's eyes, and chakra surged around him. However, this place was quite far from the Amegakure base, and most of the chakra he had preserved was already consumed. Fighting this guy in front of him would be an absolutely irrational decision.

"Rinnegan? What a joke. Do you really think the Rinnegan would appear on someone from the Uzumaki clan?" Raijin mocked. "I'm afraid you only know that the Rinnegan is a power the Sage of Six Paths once wielded, but do you have any idea where it came from?"

"Living in someone else’s fabricated lies, and yet you seem to take some pride in it," Raijin taunted as he looked at Nagato.

It seemed like Obito had taught Nagato well, but he only remembered hatred and peace. He didn’t even bother to investigate the secret of the Rinnegan! Forget it! Even if he had investigated, he would only have seen what Black Zetsu wanted him to see. A lifetime of living in falsehoods—his fate was tragic from the very beginning.

"What are you talking about? Pain is the reincarnation of the Sage of Six Paths, here to end the world's endless wars," Konan interrupted, her voice sharp. "The power of the Rinnegan is something Nagato awakened himself. The words from your mouth are the real lies!"

"It seems you’ve noticed something, but you’re just reluctant to reveal it," Raijin continued. "But it doesn’t matter. I’ll tell you the truth about the Rinnegan."

"After all, Nagato, you can't use your powers here, right? We are too far away from Amegakure; the chakra can’t be transmitted here," Raijin added with a laugh. "Right now, you're worse than a puppet master without any means to fight back. How pitiful."

He looked at Konan, who was visibly anxious. This meticulous woman had noticed something was off, but out of consideration for Nagato's dream, she hadn’t spoken a word. She simply stood behind him, serving as his final shield. The ideal was good, but every dream has a moment of shattering.

"What are you trying to say?" Nagato’s face darkened as he sensed Raijin was about to reveal a secret.

Although he had doubted his power before, with Konan and Yahiko by his side, he had accepted it. All he wanted was to help them achieve so-called peace, so he never investigated the origins of his power. But now that it was mentioned, Nagato had to reexamine his power in a real sense.

"Your power does not belong to you. While it’s true that the Rinnegan was once the eye of the Sage of Six Paths," Raijin explained, "you misunderstood one thing. The descendants of the Sage of Six Paths are the Senju, Uzumaki, and Uchiha clans. Your Uzumaki clan and the Senju clan inherited the Sage's body, while our Uchiha clan inherited the Sage's eyes."

"The Rinnegan is the ultimate form of the Uchiha clan, not yours! So don’t get it twisted."

Uchiha Raijin looked at Nagato with disdain.

". . ."

". . ."

Neither Nagato nor Konan expected this revelation. The three clans were descendants of the Sage of Six Paths. But then why did the Rinnegan appear in Nagato?

"The reason it appeared in you is that you are the unlucky one chosen to resurrect the true owner of the Rinnegan," Raijin answered, anticipating their question. "When the time comes, those eyes that don’t belong to you will leave you, and your Uzumaki clan's trademark red hair will turn white."

Raijin knew what these two wanted to ask, so he directly revealed Madara's plan. Obito was the executor of Madara's plan, but to be honest, the guy was a bit dumb. If things continued to drag on, who knows when this plan would finally end. So Raijin decided to take over ahead of time and let Nagato fully unleash his ambitions.

"Uchiha Madara!" Both Nagato and Konan thought of the masked man within the organization immediately. They didn’t expect this to be his plan! Then... does this mean peace is also...

Nagato’s face darkened as he looked at Raijin. "So, peace is..."

"Yes, the peace they talk about is also fake," Raijin nodded, not denying it. "Their so-called peace is just a grand illusion. But that illusion isn't about achieving peace. It’s about summoning a monster that no one can contend with. So I suggest you don't do anything unnecessary."

Infinite Tsukuyomi, while claiming to quell the turmoil of the ninja world, was more insidious than Thanos. At least Thanos left half of the people alive. But Infinite Tsukuyomi would turn about ninety percent of people into White Zetsu.

"Uchiha Raijin, what are you trying to do? What’s your purpose in telling Nagato all of this?" Konan demanded, glancing back as Nagato was deep in thought.

In her eyes, Uchiha Raijin was no different from the masked man in their organization—both were treacherous, sinister people who couldn’t be called good by any measure.

"I simply couldn’t bear to see you people with such naive ideals die here," Raijin replied. "Achieving so-called peace isn’t easy. Nagato, I just happen to have a practical exercise for you to try out! Are you interested?"

Raijin saw Nagato deep in thought and spoke directly.

"?"

A practical exercise? What was that?

For those who had experienced the flames of war in the ninja world, crawling and fighting for survival, what else was there to practice?

"There's an organization on the vast sea," Raijin began, briefly describing the Revolutionary Army to Nagato. What Nagato lacked was a broader vision, and it just so happened that the sea was missing someone to stir the winds and waves. Raijin thought Nagato, a radical, would be perfect.

"Of course, you don’t have the power to refuse!" Raijin grabbed Konan by the neck, and a whirlpool appeared, sucking her into the Kamui dimension.

"When you’re ready, come find me! Some members of your Akatsuki have already been recruited by me. You don’t need to gather them again. And one more thing—it's best to keep this from that masked man and Black Zetsu."

Raijin waved his hand, his figure quickly disappearing in front of Nagato.

The Akatsuki was essentially bundled up by him, directly compensating for his lack of manpower. As for what kind of scene Obito and Black Zetsu would see when they saw the empty Akatsuki, Raijin didn’t care. It wasn’t time to collect the Tailed Beasts yet, so Obito probably wouldn’t have the time to focus on Nagato.

"I’m supposed to follow this organization and learn? What about Amegakure?" Nagato felt that Raijin wanted to recruit him but also use him like the rest of the Akatsuki members. What exactly was this guy planning? Nagato couldn’t figure out Raijin’s intentions. But this guy disappeared too quickly, not giving him a chance to respond.

Nagato's expression was extremely grim as he looked at the dead White Zetsu around him, a trace of cold light flashing in his eyes.

Bansho Ten'in!

In an instant, he pulled these ninja corpses in front of him.

Bang!

The corpses exploded into fragments in front of him.

Nagato glanced around, not sensing any other flaws before flying back to Amegakure. Upon returning to the range of Amegakure, Nagato felt the fullness of chakra returning. If Uchiha Raijin appeared before him now, Nagato would be able to defeat him instantly.

Damn it! If this guy did anything to Konan, he would never forgive him no matter what.
