Revisited SPiKE chapter
Added 2018-12-14 03:34:54 +0000 UTCGot quite a few of these lying around, and figured that I could share this one with you guys.
Admittedly, it is sort of unedited in the way that I just wrote it down, read over it a few times and did a little spell check thingamabob, switching out a few words and whatnot, but not any hardcore editing as far as sentence structure and flow goes, so, you know, consider this more of a sketch in text form.
But I hope it is enjoyable or exciting to read anyways :)
Also, sorry about the extensive use of profanities. I honestly felt that censoring the characters' speech habits would sort of deprive them of the sense of realism I'm trying to give them. I like writing dialogues that (hopefully) feel believable or feel like it would make sense for that particular character to say what they say, as though they were a real person. In real life people sometimes say dumb shit they in retrospect might regret or wish they could go back and edit, which is why I feel it would make them less dynamic and believable if I'd done heavy editing on their dialogue.
In this chapter, Marco is doing everything he can to piss Spike off, after learning that Spike is under strict commands not to get into any more trouble at school or he'll not only get in trouble with his uncle, but expelled from the school as well due to the frequent fights Spike, Marco and Sam have gotten themselves into over the past semester. Marco is also on the verge of getting expelled, and thinks he's found a way to get Spike to pick a fight with Marco seemingly unprovoked, by verbally taunting him until he breaks, in plain sight alone out on the schoolyard where everyone else can see them from their classroom windows, but not hear what Marco says. Brilliant plan, he thinks. Or thought.
Many of you have read the forerunner to this chapter, but uuugghh... it was in dire need of a complete do-over.
Curious to hear your thoughts on this though :)
