Throwing out a new show rec for you. Hope this is close to the right place. "Government Cheese" on Apple, starring David Oyelowo. It is a mix of genres, but claims quirky comedy bones. He plays a Dad trying to reconnect with his family after prison, set in 1969. The first episode did NOT end the way it started and I'm intrigued. Episodes release on Wednesdays.
