About "Ashley's Discovering Fast-Food - Chapter 2" - PC Upgrading - Future work!

Hey everyone! I hope that you had a nice day/night and a beautiful and spooky Halloween!

It's gonna be a little long, so grab something to drink and to eat.

(In short: My PC is not enough powerful at all for rendering the scenes I wanna do in the comic, and it makes my PC crash nearly every time, so I'm gonna take a little break about the comic until I upgrade my PC in the next few months, If everything's okay.)

I wanted to make this post to clarify what's going on with Ashley's comic since I've not posted any for a few time. Quick answer: my PC says "no". I told you guys about how heavy the restaurant scenes are to render, and I'm really at a point where my PC just doesn't want anymore, even with splitting the scenes in 3 with only one character at a time, and lowering a lot the resolution of the render, it just takes so long and use literally all my PC power. When by any miracle, it doesn't make my whole PC crash when I just click "Start render".

I can't even use my PC while it's running. So to be honest, it really makes me upset and I prefer to take a little break in the making of it, the time that I get a better PC. Because at this point I really don't take much pleasure doing it, it nearly feels like a chore working on it with this PC. The time that it takes is just ridiculous, and I do all this work because I like it, I don't want it to feel like a chore and I don't want to lie to you guys by saying I take pleasure of doing it. So sadly for the moment, it's gonna go with all the renders that I wanted to do, but that I had to give up on, because my PC's not being enough powerful.

Thankfully, with the few money I made here (Thanks to everyone by the way!), I managed to save some money for upgrading my PC, everything except the GPU & CPU should be upgraded around Christmas, my CPU is still awesome, so no need to change it at all. But sadly, the GPU is the most IMPORTANT thing, since it's the component that do the render, but the prices lately are just crazy, like for real, some of them cost like 2-3x what they costed before of COVID and crypto currencies rising. So It's gonna take a few months of saving after I already get the new components around Christmas - new year. I really can't tell you guys how much waiting, I can't see the future. Just gonna need to be a bit patient sadly.

But It's not abandoned! It will come back without any doubt! In even better quality! Just gonna need to wait a few months the time that I have enough money to upgrade my PC, and trust me, when it'll be upgraded, I'm gonna do wayyyy bigger renders & animations! More people, better scenes, longer animation with finally no more just black background! All this in higher resolution! Finally saying "bye" to the need of always removing lights, objects in the scenes and making everything more simple to make my PC able to render the scenes. So many possibilities will be available! I'm really excited for the future!
