Glad to know I'm not missing out on anything. Here is a tip when taste testing things if you plan to do another of these. Not that it might have helped since they were all terrible but you need to drink water between them to reset your pallet. Also with smelling, you use vanilla extract. That way everything doesn't taste and smell the same.

It's more common than you think. Notice how the cans themselves look identical and its only the paper labels that are different? And you checked all the labels and they recipes muat be similar. If they're a semi-batch process they can just change the ingredients or ratio slightly and change the lot number, slap a different paper label on it (distributors usually specify labels for marketing reasons) and sell it to a different distributor. That's the only way I can imagine a canning factory actually being able to stay in business making this... "food" (Source: I actually work in a factory that does this kind of stuff, US based).
