Development Update (V0.05)

An update to let all patrons know of the big changes I have in store for Nasty Virtual from the Version 0.05 release and beyond.

If you'd rather not read this massive wall of text, then I'd recommend just skimming through the large headings in bold, that should be enough to get you filled in on the details. πŸ‘

In truth a lot of these changes are born out of the time I have recently spent looking closely at the previous versions (everything before V0.03). I have been finding myself enjoying and appreciating the ease of use, simplicity and the overall concept and design of those earlier versions more and more.

Undeniably the Pre-V0.03 releases did somethings the newer releases simply don't do anywhere near as well. And I'm referring to how easy to play and easy to customize those earlier releases were.

In the earlier versions there was little to no learning curve for new players whatsoever, making it much more approachable.

And even for players who aren't new players, the newer releases are often not as enjoyable due to the more complex user interface and experience and the constant need to click characters and then various buttons to interact with the scene.

This is something quite a few of you have mentioned (especially as soon as V0.03 released, and I have continued to go back and read those initial responses). And as these feelings are still coming up both here on Patreon and in the Discord channel from time to time, it has helped to confirm my own ideas on the direction to take for future releases. (thanks to Jacky Jackson, Slevin Kelevra and others for your constructive feedback on where the Post-V0.03 releases were lacking in comparison to the original releases).

So aside from already promised features (like body piercings and latex outfits), here are some of the key changes that will be coming starting in V0.05 later this month.

1. An Updated Version of the Original User Interface and User Experience On PC and Mac

For all platforms:

Selecting any sex pose will automatically add a sex partner and start the sex animation instantly.

You will no longer need to add a sex partner or use the "Mount" button.

For PC and Mac platforms:

I will be bringing back a simple user interface with all the sex positions listed clearly and select-able as soon as the game loads up (almost exactly like it was in the original versions)

You will once again be able to instantly customize the main girl character like you could in the original releases without going into the menus, as there is more than enough screen real-estate on those platforms to make that possible.

You will also no longer be required to click on the character's bodies to select a character to customize, as you will now be able to use a drop down menu that will be present on the screen, right above where the sliders will appear (on the left side of the screen)

Accessing outfit changes, skin detail changes (like wetness, oiled skin) will be available in the same way they were in the original version (i.e. by clicking on a +show more options toggle)

Lastly, and because I just remembered it due to being on the topic of changes that bring us back to the old UI, The pregnancy slider will finally be returning in V0.05.

2. Rule 34-Inspired Characters Will Be Usable As Futa Sex Partners

Since I've been on the Rule 34 corner of the internet for some much needed inspiration lately (mostly for getting inspiration for Chel's design), I noticed something pretty obvious that is missing from every Nasty Virtual game that really should not be at this stage, and that is the ability to have Futa versions of each Rule-34 inspired character.

Granted this feature would not have been possible in the Pre-V0.03 releases due to the way I coded those versions of the game, but since V0.03, it's a feature that has been relatively straight-forward to add.

So from V0.05, you will now be able to have the option for Rule 34 inspired characters as the Futa sex partner (initially only as the character doing the penetrating though) πŸ™Œ

To reduce the amount of time spent interacting with menus for some, I will also now have an option (as soon as the game starts), that will ask if you'd like have Futa or Men as the sex partners that automatically spawn when you select a sex position.

3. Contextual Sex Positions (based on the Environment/Furniture in the scene)

For those that played the earlier versions of Nasty Virtual (especially the V0.01). You will be aware that the sex often took place on whatever furniture was present in the scene. For example, the Cowgirl sex position would have the animation play out on the couch in the scene in the V0.01 release.

I will be bringing this feature back for V0.05. I will also be bringing the original messy and dingy couch environment from the initial release (and even the original character "Ms. Strife" in the header of this Patreon).

In future releases from V0.05 onwards: I will expand on this to include sex on table tops, torsos stuck in laundry machines πŸ˜‚, and also with BDSM/bondage type "furniture".

Not all of this will be available in the initial V0.05 release of course, but this is the direction I want the animations to go in.

This way I can keep adding new ways of depicting similar sex animations even several months into the future, long after I've exhausted the potential of adding new and unique sex positions into the game.

You also won't need to interact with any complex menus as the animations will be automatically contextual to the environment that you have selected. And because I plan on adding new environments, this feature becomes all the more complementary and gives players a reason to try every new environment.

4. Cartoon/Stylized Art Style Option (but only for characters initially)

Also, with the upcoming introduction of the new character inspired by Chel (from The Road to El Dorado), it just feels right to have the option to switch to a more stylized art style for rendering the characters in the scene.

(Note that even with the Chel inspired character, her design should still fit reasonably enough into a photo-realistic setting as well)

Keep in mind that this change will currently only be coming to characters and not the environments, which might create a pretty weird visual disconnect between the environment and the characters (sort of like the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit")

However, in future releases I will work on making each environment also reflect the selected art-style appropriately.

5. Props

You will be able to spawn and drop props into the scene to add a little something extra to the scene.

Used condoms, puddles of cum or piss, and cum stained items of clothing will eventually all be options you can spawn into the scene from a new menu. 

(I'll make any new menus easily accessible like it was on the original versions. At least on PC version. Mobile screens often having much less space makes it a bit more tricky on that platform)

Note that not all of these props will interact with the physics or collide realistically with characters initially, although that might come in later versions.

6. Putting the "nasty" back into Nasty Virtual.

Felt that Nasty Virtual just wasn't all that nasty in truth. So it was high time to do something about that.

Ass slapping (spanking) will finally be back for V0.05

Before I could bring this feature back I needed to first implement a really neat physics stimulation effect that was used in the original versions that was removed from V0.03 and V0.04.

I'm of course talking about the reactive butt-spank jiggle that occurred whenever you made the sex partner spank the ass of the main girl in the original releases. That cool effect used an entirely separate (squash and stretch) approach to simulating physical soft bodies, and I needed to make it work in the new system.

Having now achieved that (hopefully without any crazy bugs), it is finally time to bring spanking back.

Auto Ass Slapping (Spanking)

The Auto-Spank feature will be the first Autopilot Feature that you can set and allow the sex partner to fulfill automatically without having to press a button each time you want them to perform it. It will also include a frequency slider that you can adjust.

More "Nasty" actions coming soon: Face slapping and choking (BDSM and consensual breath-play) (won't be ready for V0.05)

More nasty actions are currently in the works, but won't be ready for V0.05 release (hopefully I can have it ready for either an interim V0.5.x release, and if not then the V0.06 release)

More reactive facial expressions and voice sfx audio reactions to "nasty" interactive actions.

Performing repeated actions will cause the girl to sometimes change her facial expression (what those reactions are will be chosen at random for each character every time you load up the game), also there will be more vocal sfx in response to some "nasty actions" you perform (e.g. spanking or face slapping)

Super early versions of pissing and scat will be coming soon (might be in there for a later V0.05.x interim release, but if not then V0.06)

Not everyone's cup of tea I understand, but it was promised in the original vision of the project and I think in keeping with the general attitude of refocusing on that initial vision, it's best I eventually implement these fetish features.

7. Pull-Out, Resume and Pre-Sex Posing

Although I am definitely focusing on bringing back the simplicity in V0.05, there will still be extra features for players that enjoy the more complex interactions and setups you can create.

To that effect, you will now also have the "Pull Out" and "Resume" options to make any sex partner pullout into to a Paused/Idle sex pose, with the alternate button resuming the sex anytime you want.

The reason for having this Pullout/Pre-Sex pose, is to allow for the player to play around with the interactive "nasty actions" in the game, such as dynamic cumshots, spanking, etc. It will also allow you to take a pause from the action while still being able to interact and even notice facial reactions/expressions that are a response to the "nasty actions" you make the characters perform.

One last thing.. 😒

Decided to leave this as the last thing to mention as I wanted to get all the exciting news out of the way before I dropped a bitter-pill / reality check at the end.

From the release of V0.05 I will start the process of invalidating older releases that have been out for 3 months since their initial release (this will happen to all releases except for the Pre-V0.03 releases, so you'll always be able to play those first original versions of Nasty Virtual even after 3 months since their release, but the versions from V0.03 onwards (i.e. the ones that allow you to select multiple different R34 inspired characters) will now require you to download a version released in the last 3 months to keep playing) 

Note that this does not mean that all versions that have existed for 3 months will then be forever lost to history, it just means that you will need to contact me directly on Patreon as an actively subscribed patron to get a playable version of an older release if that is something you really desire. I will be happy to provide that for you (from V0.05 onwards)

Keep in mind that I will not be removing content, sex positions, animations or characters in new versions, so the latest version should always feature more and more content than previous releases, hence there shouldn't often be as pressing of a need to revisit the older post-V0.03 versions of Nasty Virtual. Or so I hope.

Why make this change?

Quite honestly, I am doing this to give new patrons that subscribe, download (and then cancel shortly afterwards)*, a stronger incentive to resubscribe (at least from time to time). Or at least after a period of months has passed.

I recognize that as the game improves and includes more features going forward, there will be a point likely within the next 6 - 12 months where I will no doubt be underselling my work.

With at least 6 more R34-inspired characters added at that point, and a host of new features, I sincerely feel I would be being quite unfair to myself and to the work I've put in, if I were to simply allow all of that content to be purchased for what would essentially be a massively discounted price of a one-month subscription at the base tier (currently $7.50).

In truth, the purpose of this Patreon was always to find a community of people that were willing to support the on-going development of this project as it progresses towards Version 1.0 (and beyond).

However, it would appear that ever since the launch of this project, a number of new members seemed only interested in buying the game.

Which while I absolutely love and appreciate people wanting to purchase something I've worked hard on, I hadn't exactly priced my work at a price point that would be fair for a one-off sale even as an early access release, but rather I had chosen a base membership tier price that I hoped patrons would be willing to pay to support the development of the game on a continuous basis.

And while there have been more than a few of you loyal supporters ( and I truly appreciate you guys a lot ❀. As you guys are ultimately why I will continue to do this even at the times when working a 9-to-5 make finding enough spare time seem almost impossible )...

...there are also plenty that prefer to treat Patreon like a shop and not as a membership - as is their right to do, but I feel this change is necessary to ensure that in those circumstances I am not underselling my work especially as the project evolves.

I would ideally prefer to not have to increase membership tier prices in future either (and might even go the other way and consider reducing them), so making this change will allow me to at least feel like the situation is more fair and balanced (at least in my head), as I will know that anyone joining purely as a purchase of one of the new and improved upcoming versions of the game will now only be purchasing 3-months of access.

*(note that I'm aware that a number of you prefer to control when you choose to re-subscribe and often do so when you want to try a new release. Please know I have absolutely no issue with you choosing to support me in that way, this change is in no way targeted at you guys)

Estimated Release Window for V0.05

Version 0.05 should release sometime closer to the middle of this month. But it could drag on into the later half of this month depending on how life goes outside of this project. However it should definitely release in the month of April. (This time I don't have to rebuild anything or deal with the insanity that is building in adaptive mobile game platform optimization in Unity anymore, as that is mostly all out of the way now)

Cumshots should not be unseen, it's a rendering issue affecting some players more than others, will be fixed for V0.05. Indeed what you described the game as is exactly what it is (at the moment at least). You aren't missing anything. If you have any gameplay ideas you'd like to see in the game, please feel free to share them with me.. I'm all ears.

I just joined and have a question? Are the cumshots always unseen? The game just seems like a sex sim where you just select positions and watch? I wasn't sure if I was missing something?

flippin loving the game so much. would really like to see a penis customize section entailing- size of penis separate from balls, balls size. small to massive. cum covered, type ect. just some food for though. keep up the great work

Yes, I am very much aware of those issues. And they cause me great frustration. 😭 Mostly because if I had the foresight to think about things more clearly at the initial stages of the project I would have been able to avoid most of the clipping issues, because I would have designed the base character models and the base clothing templates at the exact same time to ensure they fit perfectly together. But I didn't. For V0.04 I essentially worked out a bunch of those issues, but did that before implementing additional body part customization features (hips, waist, chest, body-height, etc).. and then found that depending on the setting of some of those, adjusting body parts like the thighs, ass or breasts would then cause even more clipping than before. Thankfully there is finally a more robust solution available for fixing these issues (it effectively hides mapped out parts of the body underneath the clothes), and so this solution while being more expensive computationally will do away with a lot of these issues for good. However, I can't promise it will be ready to release for V0.05, but if I can get most of the work done before the middle of April, then I will focus on getting this feature setup for all of the clothing. πŸ‘

Im looking forward to the content expansion altough Im not interested in the scat/piss part of it. On a side note, are you aware of the body clipping through the clothing if you expand body-parts such as thighs?
