2019-07-01 08:07:30 +0000 UTCLyla left the key on the ground so Doakes would be able to get out of the cage before the explosion, but not in time to survive after having to struggle to get them and locking the cabin door. The cage did survive the explosion and he would have been inside it, looking suspicious. because of that, the police ruled his death a suicide.

2019-07-01 08:05:37 +0000 UTCTotally agree on the rushed ending. Lila (and Dexter's "addiction") remains, to date, one of my least-liked storylines in the whole show. I felt like they put *so* much in this season, with the FBI hunt, and Doakes, that wrapping everything up elegantly was impossible. And in that frame of mind, Lila has always felt like a scapegoat to me - they needed her so Dexter didn't lose sympathy by killing this character they abruptly made likeable, you know? But the rest, I really enjoyed, and your reactions were great, as always. Can't wait for you to start s3 - it's one of my personal favorites. :D
