@ JD Foreman is a character in the same TV show, so that is not really relevant. Foreman isn't arguing for the alternative universe he suspects is watching, he is arguing for the universe he is in. And in that universe, House saves almost all the patients and so Foreman is entirely wrong.

2020-11-30 04:24:55 +0000 UTCI know it's a TV show and everything is unrealistically exaggerated, but if IRL someone like House exsited who would save his patients 99% of the time through his craziness and breaking the rules, I do believe he would also get away with a lot of things and someone like Foreman working next to him might do the right thing on paper, but not the right thing for the patient in the end.

2020-11-25 18:53:52 +0000 UTCTo be fair, the reason that House always ends up saving the patient is that it's a TV show. Foreman's totally right. But it wouldn't be much fun to watch if it was just a live stream of a diagnostician's practice.

2020-11-25 17:13:15 +0000 UTCIt's one of those episodes where I understand each characters side and would probably do the same thing in their place. Foreman did the responsible thing, House did what he always does, did not let the patient die even if he broke every rule severely, Cameron proved the patient was lying, and Cuddy did use Foreman to get all that built up paperwork done, can't say I blame her, it must be a relief. I totally get Foremans frustration, but he is not right, the mortality rate does not go through the roof with House, he always ends up saving the patient. And it's not like Cuddy allows all regular doctors with regular cases to behave like this. House specializes in extremely rare cases, so regular rules don't always work. I don't know why would Foreman want the headache of being his boss long term anyway, it's not like House is going to change. Any mess up House would do would be bad for Foreman as his boss, and if he prevented House from doing something crazy when he was right, then the patient dies and again Foreman would be held accountable. It's lose lose either way. Better let House be in charge and answer for all the craziness he does.
