Haha I know you posted this months ago, but yes I remember Quinn makes a joke about it in season 8 I think. Not sure the episode (maybe 8x18) but she says to Clay "you do realize my dad's name is James James?" I think when they r discussing Haley's middle name maybe

2021-09-12 03:49:32 +0000 UTCI loved that Luke threw a party for Nathan/Haley. it was really sweet of him. And I liked how he's trying to re-build a relationship with Brooke and Peyton. Although, till this day, I would have LOVED a special feature where they reveal what Lucas wrote in the letter. I don't like the whole Brooke/Peyton "storyline" (if you can call it that) this episode because they made a whole joke out of posting someone's nudes online without their consent and idk, it just doesn't sit well with me Deb... I don't much to say beyond what everyone else has said. It's just super disappointing because she was a really good character Season 1. But I guess the stress of Dan's heart attack and her marrying young and realizing what kind of wife she was, maybe she doesn't want Haley to become her?? Maybe she thinks she ruined Dan's life??? But maybe that interpretation is being too kind to Deb. And it doesn't excuse her, quite frankly, bitchy behavior toward Haley. I think Deb was actually TRYING at the party but when she was confronted with Haley's parents, the people that really could have just said no to it all, she lost it, and took it out on them.

So im genuinely watching this show, episode by episode, right along side them and am bummed at the character turn of deb. She was soo sweet and the one i thought nathan would stick to but dam. Its understandable because she was married early and she now finds herself 18 years later pondering whether or not they ever really loved each-other. Her living in a loveless marriage is what is sparking the outrage and fear that nathan and hailey will end up that way BUT DAMN MAN 🥺😢

Normally I would be the last person to defend her and I won't in future episodes but in this arc you can see her trying but failing to accept the marriage. I think for the first fight was the shock of it all and for the second at the party was Haley's parents that triggered her. Which is understandable. Even Steven mentioned that they are way too cool with all of this. It's easy to judge when you aren't the one in Deb's shoes and a little lashing out is hardly harmful at this point.

2021-09-11 04:27:48 +0000 UTCDeb annoys me so much in this storyline. The way she's going after Hailey just isn't right. And you raised a very good point. She didn't yell at Nathan, all her anger has been directed and put upon Hailey and that's a lot for this poor girl to have to shoulder. I'm so glad she stood up for herself, and her marriage, as well as her parents. Deb needed someone to put her in her place. It's like she showed up there just to stir up trouble instead of being supportive. She doesn't even have to agree with the marriage, but at least have some respect for her child and the person he clearly cares deeply about. She's over here talking about how he's still just a boy....well where was she when that boy was crying to her 10+ years before, begging her to come home? Ugh, I could carry on and on about Deb lol I loved this episode with Lucas, Brooke, and Peyton. They were all such a hot mess when romance was involved but as friends, it's really nice to see. And I enjoyed seeing Lucas with Skillz again. I've missed him and Mouth a lot lately. Lucas does need to return to the person he once was before everything got so out of hand. I'm glad Skillz could talk some sense into him and maybe having Skillz and Mouth around again will help him find himself once again. The Lucas/Nathan brothers thing is sooo cheesy sometimes but god I love it so much. They spent so long hating each other, it's nice to see them bond and be in one another's corners.
